The wolf she is curious about is @Jomyo.

While she’d used the skill of hunting (and let’s be real, any healthy adult knows how to hunt), it isn’t the only thing she wants them to know she’s good at. She can help others get through some problems, she’s had to a few times, but she’s always good on the borders. It doesn’t take a lot of effort and she can spend the time alone. She doesn’t have to listen to someone yap about their problems (most of the time) and on the rare occasion she’s tossed into having to talk to someone that wants to join her, she tries to get out of it as quickly as possible.

So far, claiming to be near the end always gets her off the hook.

Well, this is my stop! It’s been real.

It had been significantly easier to live a life of leisure when she’d been born into Juniper. This place doesn’t offer the same type of security. She’s under an eye of scrutiny and she hasn’t even had any one on one time with the leader, @Mato. She snorts. Tomato. She wonders how many times he’s gotten that. A time or two, at least. It’s just as silly as Delight. And even Sunflower. They are simple but in their own way, it fits. Her fondness for Delight is a bit of a curious thing but she does take quite the pleasure making him squirm. The rest of the pack, despite the short time she’s spent with Anatha and Brienne, hasn’t been too much so far. There’s still a lot for her to learn and with winter coming closer every day, she’s more and more feeling like she can really help them prepare.

There is another scent she is familiar with, having crossed it a few times, but it is few and far between. The next time she sees @Delight, she’ll ask unless she manages to find her first. Her nose touches the ground as she slows to a stop, wondering if she can attempt to locate it—that, or her friend—and so she moves easily through the thick forest.

After a moment, she hears the huff of something—something large—and she backs up. Delight had told her about the large elk that lives in the forest and his importance to these wolves. It isn’t something she understands necessarily but she hasn’t questioned it yet. When she sees the outline of him in the distance, weaving through the forest, she feels significantly smaller than she had a moment ago. Nervously, she looks over her shoulder to see if anyone else is nearby but luckily the creature hasn’t seen her and she begins to back pedal, making a slow exit out of the immediate area.

things are all topsy-turvy now with brienne back and brienne and mato broken up and mato and delight's weird... whatever it is between them now. it's not nothing but it's also not anything and delight thinks its maybe worse than when he was pining quietly from afar.

there's nothing he can do for it now, though, except sulk. which he hasn't done in a long while, and it's well earned, thank you. he sulks his way through the forest until he catches sunflower's scent and then he sulks his way towards that. the androgyne thinks he should probably not sulk in front of the núro but - it's sunflower, so maybe it's okay. he comes up behind her as she back tracks, and curious, follows her gaze to the shape of the king elk. ah.

"he's pretty magnificent," delight says, more or less directly into her ear. "wanna talk to him?" he adds, in the same deadpan as always but with a quirked eyebrow, a hint of something teasing.
Sunflower nearly jumps out of her skin when Delight steps up behind her, fur bristling and she opens her mouth in a silent yelp. Her eyes widen and her tail lashed, shuffling awkwardly back out of the way. A single glance at what she’d been backing away from and they’ve only attracted a little attention. Not enough to warrant anything further. She licks her lips and swings her head back to Delight and she stares at his shoulder for a moment before suddenly jumping forward and shoving him. “Jerk,” she says mid-motion, using a sharp dip in her shoulder to push him back several feet.

he laughs, pushed back easily - his laugh a rusty and rare thing - and falls into an awkward sitting position. the king elk is as always unbothered by the odd happenings of the wolves he shares his home with and delight pays him no more mind as he disappears into the trees.

he grins at sunflower, though the expression feels odd on his face. after a moment he abandons it. "he is magnificent though," the androgyne repeats, more thoughtfully. "the first time i met him it felt - i don't know, spiritual or something." he makes a face at himself, then looks at his friend. "how're you settling in?"
Delight laughs and she scowls after him but she steps back to give him space to recover from the awkward drop to the ground. Through his stupid laughs and stupid grin, he tries to explain the magic behind the large beast but it makes no difference to her. She has to turn away from the kid to keep from rolling her eyes too hard. It’s just a big, intimidating beast that she’d rather have for dinner but in this pack, it’ll never happen. It’s not that big of a deal for her, either. There’s plenty of other things to go around, but worshiping something they are very capable of eating is silly.

“Just fine, I reckon,” she says, licking her lips and turning away from where the creature disappears. “It’s kinda quiet.”

delight gets the impression sunflower isn't too impressed, whether with him or with the elk in general - but that's fine. it's not like an actual religion or anything - so long as she doesn't try to take a bite out of him (or say something in front of mato) the nénar doesn't really care what she or any of them think. it's different when you're faced with him. it's a little hard to explain.

"is quiet bad?" the androgyne asks, raising an eyebrow at her. sunflower does seem like the type to like action, he guesses (he prefers to sit around and sulk alone, so their general calmness suits him). "what do you like to do for fun, then?" he tilts his head, studying her intensely. delight can be fun. delight can handle whatever it is she finds entertaining. absolutely, no problem.
Sunflower isn’t sure how to answer. Quiet isn’t bad so much as different. She had a big family and even if she didn’t get a long with all of them, it didn’t stop her from always having something to do or someone to talk to. Hanging around this small pack, especially after a while of living the lonely life, leaves her searching for something and avoiding every other thought that comes to mind.

”Not really,” she says with an indifferent shrug. ”I’m not used to it, is all,” she says, and a grin spreads from one side of her muzzle to the other. ”This place couldn’t handle the kind of things I do for fun,” she adds with a click of her tongue and a playful, sarcastic scoff that he’d assume such a thing.

women. inscrutable. delight squints at her. delight can be fun.

he's going to regret this.

"oh, yeah?" he asks, puffing up a little, ego bruised, "what do you do for fun, miss flirts-with-anything-that-breathes?" it's hard to tell but underneath the clipped bluster, he's actually fond. and anyway, he's pretty sure his ideas of fun (think about mato, watch mato, sulk, sometimes about mato) won't be her cup of tea - and, hell, he's curious, he'll own up to it. sunflower is so much like uka in her brash... boldness, it actually scratches a little itch he hadn't known - or wanted to admit - he had. it's kind of nice, having a foil.
He’s skeptical, she can tell, but he doesn’t want to admit it directly. A smirk forms on her features and she looks off, insulted. “It’s a lot of work flirting with everything that breathes. I told you I take my job seriously, sweets,” she tells him with a quirk of her brow. She’s sometimes surprised by how easy it is to make him squirm but she can’t deny it’s a little fun. Maybe she’s picked up a new hobby. She adds it to the list but she doesn’t tell him about it just yet.

“Well, my brothers found this mushroom that grew near our pack that was… well, it got us kinda high. And we’d eat it and then chase rabbits,” she says though there’s a strike of confusion. Were they actually rabbits, if anything at all? Her brows knit together as she thinks about it, but brushes it off. “Got us in trouble a time or two, though,” she says with a swish of her tail. Delight’s a leader after all. “But you wouldn’t know anything about that, would you?”

mushrooms? delight's never heard of anything like that, and his eyes widen a little comically as he peers at sunflower, torn between scandalized and incredibly curious. when she says but you wouldn't he flips to very scandalized, chest fur puffing up  as a near-pout tugs his lips. "i can be a trouble maker," he tells her, even though he has never, to his knowledge, broken a rule in his life (though whether that's due to an innate sense of moral or just his general apathy towards such things is an unknown.) "what kinda mushrooms?" delight asks, as if they'll be able to find them in the forest in the dead of winter, "and what does getting high mean?"
