rendezvous site time! no post order, this'll just be a few rounds :) pups, feel free to assume the pups live at the rendezvous site from now on, which includes the lower slopes of the mountain with some forest, open spaces and some rocky and mountainy terrains.

That day was different than the other days that Charon and @Amekaze coaxed @Arcturus, the Yams @Yami and @Yama, and @Revui outside. They were a little over eight weeks old now, which meant it was time for a move to the rendezvous site. Words weren't necessary to convey this to Ame; she knew as well as him, instinctually, that it was time. Their pups were more and more outgoing and they were decidedly no longer inside pups. The den was swiftly growing obsolete and the rest of the pack needed to start taking care of them, too. Whatever was left of it presently, anyway.

"Come on sports, let's go," announced Charon. "We're going to your new home." He nosed the pups and waited outside then. A howl to announce to the rest of the pack -- @Drogon @Gannet @Vela @Jarilo @Hydra @Alya @Lyra -- was made, inviting them to witness this moment and help guide the pups to the 'vouz site so all knew where it was and all knew that from now on, the brood wasn't just in the family's hands but in those of the pack, too.
Unlike her parents, Yami's instincts failed to give her any warning that something monumental was about to happen in her life. When Charon roused the foursome and spoke of a new home, she did her usual - smile bigly, wag her tail fastly, and prance right along with them, singing a new song she had just made up. "Ports! Ports! Ports! Poooooorts!" she howled as she went, reaching over to sing the loudest and longest of the ports directly into her twin's ear, then giggling at the reaction she got.

When Charon howled, Yami paused in her song to tilt her own head back and send her shrill little voice singing along with his. If you've ever heard those laundry detergent commercials on Pandora where one guy is singing a nice song about pants while some sickly sounding bitch cries out COFFEE, you'll understand exactly what Yami's harmony to her father sounded like. When he ended his howl, the little filly went right on ahead with her own howl, adding some ups and downs and long, bounding runs like an intense jazz trumpet that took it upon itself to have a major solo in the middle of the symphony. And she would keep right on going until the cymbals crashed on her face, aka, someone smacked her in the mouth.

✴        The beast was roused from his slumber (tucked quite neatly against his shadow-brother at the time), but it took more than that to get him out of the cramped cave which had been his home for so long. Urged by the calls of his parents, the racing-about of little Yami, and the rise of Arcturus from his side, the silver boy finally gave in to the demands and rose from the darkness. He crept towards the den mouth — but still, did not exit until the rest of his siblings had gathered together beneath their pale father. He was quite guarded as he followed after them, slipping in to the light and giving his dark brother frequent glances — as if to confirm that he was still present.
i have no idea what the heck this post is but i wanted to have drogon/roar participate.

as charon's howl rose into the air — an invitation — talvella finds himself altering his course along the borders so that he veers inland, towards where the freckled alpha's summons had risen. the ansbjørn is surprised at himself. his little adventure had been good to clear his head, though he still traversed the uneasy and unknown path of self discovery. his dream of lotte had been eye opening to a lot of things and there was still a war going on within him certainly. a war of who he was and what he wanted. was he drogon — an unnecessary alias used when he ran away from his mistakes? or was his mother's roarke ...the lion? he was always her wintersbane no matter what name he called himself. the conflict ceased to quell within him but he turns his thoughts from his internal war with himself and his self caused boredom with his life ( as a beast who thrived on conflict and adventures he'd let himself become dull and predictable as he settled down and he resented himself for it ).

his pace slows as he nears the birthing den where charon and amekaze had gathered their newest brood. the epsilon had avoided them ( and thus sort of avoided vela as she spent time with her youngest siblings ) because he knew that family was important to charon and he wasn't their family. he was just another outsider encroaching on their family dominated pack.

he keeps his posture a mixture of respectful and submissive as he nears — genuinely surprised to find that he was the first to arrive —, stopping a few feet away to give the family space. his glacial gaze sweeps over the four youngest additions of moonspear with curiosity and an uncertainty of what to make of them. he'd never been around children ...at least not as an adult and he realizes with a startling epiphany that he was, indeed, an adult.
Oh boi. :'D

Vela had been close to the den when her father and mother decided to move the children. She had no clue why they would but she decided to go with it. She approached the den with a quick trot. What the female didn't expect was that Drogon of all wolves to be there already. Vela looked a bit surprised when she saw the male come closer to the den. Vela puffed out her chest and stepped forward with a raised tail. Her teeth bared a bit. She was a bit angry with him for heading off without telling her, and now, even to return without even coming to greet her first? Vela wasn't used to such a treatment.

"Where were you? I've been looking for you!," she huffed, not even saying hello as he didn't bother to say goodbye or hello to her before. The speckled female looked a bit upset. She didn't care that her father was close or her youngest siblings. She had talked about Drogon's absence with her mother and had decided to look for him just outside of the mountain's territory but there hadn't been any signs of Drogon. She actually believed he left their pack without saying anything.
She, @Lyra and @Alya made their way toward the den with a large, meaty leg carried between them; upon arrival, the trio deposited it. Hydra had initial designs to help with her new brothers and sisters, but one swiveled ear heard the proud march of her younger sister as she headed toward Drogon. The relationship between them was not one Hydra was entirely aware of, though she had her suspicions; Drogon was not a man that needed protecting, having learned much by her, though Vela was a she-wolf with much to learn.

Hydra turned on her heel, muzzle wrinkled and disappointment written on her face. This quarrel is not for this moment, Vela, she spoke darkly, pressing: we will not have a cub disappearing today because of misplaced priorities. Her ears thrust forward, her own tail lifted over her hindquarters. Surely her fathers doppelganger recalled the last move, where Galaxy had fallen through the cracks? Hydra had blamed Korei Julia, then, for her lack of attention. She wanted Vela to be better than that.

Her eyes shifted to Drogon. He clearly had no intent to leave us, else he never would have returned. Hydra knew that much. Dirge, after all, had left—and had not returned. She had known he had wanted her to come with him, but her family and her roots were much too important to her. Hydra was not finished with Moonspear. And it was not finished with her. She had found Drogon in the Winter, and he had agreed to aid them in their wartime, and, still he stayed. His loyalty, Hydra guessed, was more for just himself at this point. The bitch was clearly no counselor, but if she could set Vela's mind at ease so that she would not make herself look like a fool and jeopardize her present siblings she would consider her words not wasted.

Her twins were with their youngest siblings, and Hydra turned on her heel to join them, a protective shield against the world. In particular, she minded large gaps and crevices and herded her siblings away from any she saw with stern nips and disapproving snarls that meant she would not be tested.
Well tired of corralling this year's growing litter, and subjecting herself to the brunt of their energies, she was not about to waste any time here today as they began to rally them up and out for good finally. She encouraged them all forward, planting playful nips where she could reach on her way through and by the little quartet of bodies. Whether or not they were ready to roll, she wasn't waiting up; long strides forward and she was soon out of their reach as Charon (featuring one of the girls) rose a howl to the winds. Since they had it well covered already, she let them have it, and waved her tail with a soft sway, indicative of her light, eager mood.

She looked over her shoulder at them gathering towards their father, and half-paused while waiting for the pups to warm up entirely to the notion of new momentum. She stood in quiet observance until she noticed an unexpected face arriving among them--Drogon. A piece of her was certainly glad to see him, not that she had anticipated him being among the first to answer them. Last talks with her daughter, and much of her own nose's doings, suggested he was very, very scarce lately. Since he was evidently quite here now, he warranted a curious tilt of her head and low chuff of a greeting all the same.

But after half a glance back at her littlest litter and next thing she knew, Vela was here, zeroing in on him. Ame's ears perked up towards them, and tension was immediately palpable. Her hackles gave a half-hearted lift, and Hydra set upon it to diffuse immediately. Once that was said, Ame contributed her own to further help nudge this along: "Come on, we have some ground to cover," she whuffed, mostly at the pups, but for all of their sake's too, as she started to lead the way to the rendezvous.
After his meeting with Screech, Gannet had made himself scarce a small while, long enough for the scent of his brother to fade from him but also long enough to think on what he'd learned. And he found he was.... upset. It wasn't a good feeling.

But his duty was to the pack, and to the pups they had now. So when Charon called, he answered, slipping in at the back and silently moving to the side, a light ghost who would assist as needed. Hydra was with her sisters, which was likely good.... he had much to think on, and kept his attention on the pups, though he held back some to allow their family most of the guardianship.

hes just background chilling in case something goes wrong so I am def skippable <3
the small child clambered excitedly alongside his siblings, trilling his eagerness with tiny growls. he had no earthly idea where they were going - only that they were going -  and going fast, according to the rather swift clip his mother adopted. arcturus waffled in the spot, jolted by his sister's tuneless howls (that accompanied the far sweeter baritone of their father) -- and then he sped on on stumpy limbs after his mother.

she was proving hard to keep up with; arcturus was so busy trying to carry her tail in his teeth that he didn't notice vela swiftly descend the scene, nor the male she approached -- it was not until he heard hydra's voice that his ears perked and he abandoned his schemes of tail-grabbing, tottering over to her with a light playfulness in his eyes. had he seen gannet he might have afforded him the same affections, yet at the moment it was only hydra who was held in the boy's adoring attention.
new round, no post order! feel free to pop in at any time @Yama!

The call was joined by several; their joining might not sound very harmonious, but it made Charon feel harmonious nonetheless. A warm smile painted his face into contentness as he finished the howl and looked approvingly upon his lil' helpers. He nosed Yami and Arcturus on the cheek as the first wolves filtered in. There were two things happening worthy of note: The first one was Vela's spat with Drogon. Charon echoed Amekaze's sentiment, having wondered himself if Drogon had left their ranks. To see him here left him feeling mixed, for he was still not sure if he would approve of Drogon as Vela's partner, should it come to that; he also knew that him being so scarce had hurt his beautiful daughter dearly. But they also could use the capable paws while the pack was relatively small, and so Charon did not think too poorly of it.

The other notable thing was Gannet, who'd eagerly played with the pups the last time they had gathered the pack to meet them. Then, the Omega had been cheerful and playful, but now he clearly took a background role and did not interact much with the pups at all, seeming to choose the silent guardian role. Charon wondered what had changed, but he did not spend much effort on it because right now, his first priority was getting the pups to the rendezvous site safely.

"Let's head out," Charon said after all necessary and unnecessary words were spoken, and he started to trek through the forest, leaving the den behind. He made up the front, figuring that others would follow and, should the pups not follow him instinctively, that others would nudge them along.
Somehow he had been pretty far away when his dad's howl went up because it took him a hot minute to get there. Already he planned on practically everyone else being there, and sure enough--he wasn't all too wrong. He arrived, though, panting and prancing along as he smoothly delivered himself into the situation, just like it was meant to be. Or at least this was how it was supposed to seem as he immediately assumed a watchful guard now that he joined up alongside his younger siblings with a happy wave of his tail.

He placed himself with them to help urge them along if they needed it, all while trying to stay out of strike range incase any of them were feeling extra teeth-first tooth. Meanwhile, he kept an eye on the others too to try to figure out what was going on and what was the proper protocol here, but he definitely realized how the focus was the pups wholly and absolutely now--namely getting them all there safe, then keeping it that way. So that was what he'd do.
No cymbal crashes came, but her packmates did. That was enough to distract Yami from her yowling. She dropped her chin and turned to peer at her elder siblings with interest, her eyes shifting over to some guy she'd never seen before and promptly shifting away once again. Charon was nudging her along and she was more than happy to go. She bumped eagerly against her twin and gave her a grin before scampering forward, following whoever the leader was at that point with another series of "Da ports is go da ports da ports is go is gooooo!" And then it just dissolved into a bunch of Ports in varying pitches and lengths.
Totally forgot about posting to this, omg. Good thing I went to clean out my inbox.

Unlike their first trek beyond the whelping den, Yama did not offer much resistance this time around. She was more or less obedient in the way that she trailed along after her siblings—her parents, really, but she’d fallen behind and was currently seeing less of her parents and more of everyone’s rear ends—trotting along and making sure she didn’t get too distracted (which wasn’t easy!). Thankfully, she had her sister to help her along, and promptly took off after her after their shoulders bumped together; she didn’t pay too much attention to any of the others, nor did she eavesdrop on what they were saying, but focused solely on her sister instead. Wherever Yami went, the other Yam would be as close behind as she could manage without getting clumsy and tripping herself up.
feel free to pop in some last posts if you want, i'll archive this in a bit :)

Charon, Ame and the rest of the family that gathered herded the pups to their new home. They seemed enthusiastic enough and one of the Yams eagerly shouted slash sang something that Charon didn't really understand. After a trek where doubtlessly they needed to pull the pups back to attention several times they reached the rendezvous site: An area that included a small portion of the woods at the bottom of the mountain, but also some slopes of varying degrees near the mountain's bottom, a stream, and fields. It held all sorts of scenery so the pups could learn more and so that their paws could get used to the mountainous terrain of their home.
