Korei Julia was feeling happy. The pack was getting full up, plenty of others around. And she had yet to see if any of them were rude or mean, at least to her. And now, she wanted to meet them. But before she would set out, she decided to the see the flowers...the flowers of the sky. The bright lighs across the dark field. She would go about tomorrow.
Like most nights, Kavik had preferred to be outside rather than in his den. Sometimes he would walk the borders, making sure nothing seemed out of place; other nights, he simply sat and looked at the stars. He had always felt more comfortable under the stars and moon than under the bright light of the sun.

Tonight, he padded through the soft grass looking for a good place to stargaze. He had a certain someone on his mind and was in need of a quiet place to be alone with his thoughts. Not too long into his search, he came upon an unfamiliar she wolf. Her scent was familiar only because he had noticed it around the territory.

As he approached her, he chuffed to announce his presence and offered her a quick nod of greeting, pausing a small distance from her.
Korei Julia heard someone coming near, and gave them a quick glance as her tail began to wag behind. "Seeing the stars too?" she sighed happily. "I love the stars...do you love the stars?" she asked, looking back to the stars and the dark field above. Twinkling, like they were waving or winking down at her.
He walked a few steps closer before sitting down and giving her a friendly smile. "I am pretty fond of the stars. There's something calming about them," he answered. He moved his green gaze from her and back up to the sky. He thought coming out here to bask under the night sky would quiet his thoughts, but it seemed it just made things worse. All it did was remind him of her.

Wanting to redirect his thoughts, he turned back to the new wolf and said, "I'm Kavik, by the way. I'm new here."
Korei was smiling so much, glad to find another who liked the stars just as much as she did. "I love the stars. Always have. They are always there for me. They listen without laughing, or telling me I'm annoying, or-" She paused, giving a nervous laugh as she realised she was ranting a bit.

"Korei Juilia" she said back. "I've been here a bit. Alarian is a...a close friend of mine" she ended on saying. And he was. She still saw him as a protector, as she had back then.
The she wolf smiled and explained why she like the stars before laughing. The laugh sounded unsure. He offered a friendly smile before responding, "They are very good at listening." He never really talked to the stars, but he found them to be a welcome companion most nights.

He offered a nod in response to her introduction, and she went on to say that she had been here for a while and was close friends with the their pack leader. He had not talked to Alarian much since joining the pack, but he seemed like a good guy. It was clear he cared about the well-being of his pack members, which was all Kavik really asked for in a pack leader.

Kavik fixed his gaze back on the sky, not really having much to say tonight; more so than usual. He didn't mind the company, though. He was happy to meet another packmate. There were quite a few he still had yet to formally meet.
Korei Julia nodded, they always listened to her. When she felt alone, she spoke to the stars above. She sighed, happily as she visibly relaxed. She couldn't think of much to do conversation wise, so just sat there. Fully contempt as she looked up at the stars, like it was her and them.
She didn't offer him anymore words, just a nod in response to his statement.

Kavik didn't mind silence. More than anything, he hated talking just for the sake of talking. So the fact that the Korei Julia didn't say anything else, caused him no discomfort. He just followed her lead and silently took in the night sky.
Korei on the other hand, knowing there was someone right by her side, did mind the silence. She sighed again. "So...why are you up late? Could you not sleep?" she found herself asking Kavik, tipping her head a bit to get a look at their expression. "Or just wanted to see the stars?"
He returned his gaze to the she wolf at her question. "I suppose a little bit of both," he said pensively. "Truthfully, I spend most of my nights out here," he added a moment later. He hadn't been here that long, but he already had somewhat of a routine.

"What about you," he asked. "Why are you up so late?"
Korei Julia nodded to that, she also enjoyed just coming out at night, to enjoy herself under the stars. Enjoy the feeling of looking up and seeing the bright lights. "Just to see the stars. I always do."
Kavik nodded in response to her comment. "What else do you like to do around here?" he asked the she wolf. He was sure there was much this land offered and he figured this wolf probably had some insight into that.
She smiled lightly. "Play in the flowers. Talk. Have fun, brighten everyone's day" the young wolfess said. In her mind, she was still a child. "There's this one rock I like to sit on to watch the stars. It is great." A great sitting and laying rock.
Kavik smiled at her words as she listed a few things she enjoyed doing. "I, too, have a rock that I sometimes sit on under the stars," he replied. He wondered if it was the same rock this she-wolf was fond of. He had spent a couple nights there and had even slept on it one night. It really was a good rock.
Korei Julia glanced at him and her smile never wavered as she looked to Kavik. "You do? Do you mean here?" she asked, curiosity filling her bright golden eyes. "Can you show me? I can show you my rock after if you want to see" she said, curious about this other rock he had.
"My rock is not too far from here," he replied smiling. He got to his feet and smiled at the she wolf. "It's this way," he said nodding ahead and indicating that she could follow him. "You're welcome to show me your rock, as well," he added as he started walking.

True to his word, they soon arrived at a large rock in the center of the garden. It was tall, but he was easily able to leap on top of it, which is what he did once he was close enough to do so. Once on top, he turned to look at Korei Julia with a wide grin on his face. "This is it," he said proudly. This was one of his favorite places so far.
Korei followed willingly, wanting to see this rock that Kavik spoke of. She nodded with a light smile, eager to show him her rock too. And there it was, a tall one like her own rock. "It's like...my rock" she said, obviously in awe...at a rock...Korei was simple minded, as always.
Kavik smiled at his new packmate. "Where is your rock? Close to here?" He asked curiously. This seemed like a favorite place for a lot of the wolves here, and it was easy to see why. He wasn't one for flowers really, but at night, the garden was relaxing and offered a nice view of the sky.
Korei Julia nodded with very quick nods that if she were any faster, she would be a blur of white. "This way, this way!" Then she shot off, unsure if Kavik was following or not to the stargazing rock that she had found.
The other wolf took off in the direction of her rock, and Kavik jumped from his and began running in the direction she had gone. She was quite a ways ahead of him, but with his long legs, it was easy to catch up with her and keep pace as she continued to run towards her rock.
"This rock. I found it when we came here, and it is great for star watching" she said. She laid down on top of it, swishing her tail gently behind her along the rock's surface. She liked this rock. Sometimes she found herself sleeping atop it, going tired out of nowhere. Lost in the stars.
Her rock was similar to Kavik's except maybe a little smaller. "This is also a nice rock," he said watching her lie atop it.

"How long have you been at Bracken Sanctuary?" He asked the she wolf. He hadn't been here very long and he was interested see how long others had been here and how they liked it. "Do you like it here?" he added curious to know what kept her here.
She nodded her head, happy to have her rock. It was a good rock. Her rock. Then again, anyone was allowed on it she just used it a lot, most of the nights. "Since it came about" the girl answered back to the male, her tail swaying gently behind her.

"I do, I do. I have friends, they are all friends those I came here with." She cared for them all, deeply.
He thought it spoke to her loyalty and the sustainability of the pack that she had been here from its creation and was still happy. He nodded politely in response to her answers.

"Well, it was nice to meet you, Korei Julia," he said with a friendly smile. He thought it was about time to call it a night. "I think I'm going to head back to my den, now."
Korei Julia nodded softly back to the other. "All right, Kavik. It was nice in meeting you, as well" the girl answered back. She stayed on her rock, however as Kavik made it known that he was going to head away. Korei on the other hand planned to stay where she was for the night.
