AW!

The scarred soldier of steel was most at peace in the night, with darkness concealing his presence in every silent step taken. Aries was quite the beast now - a dangerous young man with little to no love left within his heart, a wolf who was one with the very tenebrosity of the Woods he resided in.

Tonight he wandered. The blood garden was a spectacular sight, even in the blackness that shrouded the area, for a beam of bright light from the moon illuminated a patch of those roses to reveal the red petals and the thorns below. It was a peculiar place, this bed of crimson, but it was silent and so he remained within its presence, a slow exhale releasing from his muzzle.
The moons that had passed had gifted the ghost with many new skills and gifts. She grew taller and lankier, though she shared little words yet -- none in a language that others spoke, anyway. The pale child had learned some, for there were others like @Damien and @Nocturnal that would use words in her presence or try to teach her, but her attention span was often short and she seemed to have little interest in words. @Relmyna was her example in this. While at times the pale child would use words, usually she would spout nonsense and for real communication, she used body language, growls and yips.

The pale child had played with @Astara earlier and had been bested by the dark one. Eventually the dark one had grown tired and the pale child had rested briefly to catch her breath before taking off for a solo adventure this time.

As the pale child, a beacon in the midst of the dark forest, snuck between trees and followed narrow paths voices that whispered in her ears guided her to where she must be. Large pale ears turned forward as she reached the garden with the illuminated flowers. The ghost was captivated by them and she took a few careful steps forward. The light of the moon illuminated her fur to make her look as if she gave light herself. When she heard a sound her pale gaze instantly shifted towards the silhouette at the frays of the area, searching for his eyes to assess friend or foe.

His focus had been bound to the red flowers coating the ground, absorbing all the details they possessed, and so he didn't notice the pale child at first. But it soon became evident that the soldier of steel was not alone in the garden, and his gaze of ice trailed upward to meet that of the quiet girl. His breath caught in his throat for a moment, a flash of a memory forcing itself up to the surface - this encounter was almost familiar. It reminded him greatly of the night he encountered Maegi for the first time, when she was much younger. Pale, a pelt that seemed to reflect the moon's light back at him. Aries' head quirked to the side, observing her before nodding her head in greeting.

He would not harm her. A wolf of Blackfeather was no enemy to him - at least not presently.
She stood frozen between the illuminated flowers as she stared at him. When she saw his gaze, the pale child averted hers instinctively, but she had gotten what she needed: he was not an enemy to her presently. The spirit child licked her lips in submission and glanced at him for another brief moment. He stayed in place, and then so did she. The pale child turned her white gaze towards the flowers again and started sifting through them, sniffing them and seemingly studying them, for as long as her attention span lasted.
