Speedy moved through the trees, her pace slow and peaceful. She had followed a herd of deer into the forest, and was trying to find a good spot to watch them. She obviously wouldn't be able to take one down or anything, being a lone wolf and all, but she was content just to watch them and learn more about their movements and patterns.

She liked these woods; the trees were packed close together, and she came here sometimes to take shelter from the rain when it was particularly heavy. She hated having wet fur, so this place had become sort of a refuge for her. Today, she had not come here to escape bad weather, though, she was just here to watch deer TV, and rest a little on the soft forest floor.
Sonny usually spent her time flying around, finding food, being a guide, anything really. She preferred woods and foresty areas for this, and apparently, she had found the right place. The osprey flew up in the air, flapping her brown wings as she looked around in hopes of maybe finding some food or something, but instead, she found a wolf. Eager to maybe talk to this wolf, Sonny flew over to a branch on a tree and perched on it, her yellow eyes examining the wolf.

"Oh, hello there, wolf. Perhaps I haven't introduced myself. My name's Sonny. I've just been looking around. You?"
Speedy heard a voice from above and was surprised to see it came from a bird perched on a branch in the tree next to her. She didn't normally talk to birds; she usually just ate them, but no bird had ever tried to talk to her either. She studied to winged creature curiously for minute. It was awfully brazen of her to try and converse with a predator, but Speedy wasn't really one to judge others for taking risks. Finally, deciding it might be interesting to have a conversation with a hawk, she said Um, hey, Sonny. I'm just watching that herd of deer, she said, lifting her head towards the herd with her words. I'm Speedy, she offered a second later with a small smile.
Perfect, this wolf was friendly as well, an important quality to look for in a friend. Sonny then cast her eyes to the deer herd, and nodded slowly as Speedy explained what she was doing. Deer, in Sonny's opinion, were delicious, when she scavenged them, of course. "I see." The bird said, nodding. "Do you need help? I could find an easy target for you."

Sonny was one to offer, that was all she knew. Besides, having a hunting partner would be fun. In deer herds, there were the hard ones to hunt, and then the easy ones. Perhaps Sonny could even strike up a deal with Speedy or even share some of the food. The fish hawk was hungry, after all.
Speedy considered the creature's offer for a minute. It would be handy, although they would need to go after something smaller. That's a nice offer. I can't take down a deer on my own, though, she said as her golden gaze moved from the bird to the deer. She would need the help of at least one other wolf-- preferably two other wolves to take down a deer. Her size kept her from offering much in the way of power when it came to taking down large prey.

You could help me find something smaller, she offered a second later. She had been pretty capable of finding prey on her own, but she wouldn't turn down help.
To her joy, Speedy had said Sonny could help her find something smaller to hunt. The osprey clearly understood if she couldn't help Speedy find a big animal to hunt, wolves would probably need companions if they were going to bring something bigger down. A smile cracked on Sonny's face. "Perfect!" She exclaimed. "I know about some small animals that live here."

With those words, Sonny flew off her branch and hovered in the air, flapping her brown wings. She then remembered where she had last seen some small animals, and flew off in that direction, looking back behind her here and there to see if Speedy was following her.
Speedy stood at the bird's offer and wagged her tail. It could be beneficial to know where the prey already was rather than having to search it out.

When Sonny spread her wings and took off from the branch she was perched on, Speedy started moving to follow her, her bird-shaped shadow gliding across the ground to offer Speedy a beacon to follow. Speedy wondered what type of creatures the bird was headed towards, but decided it really didn't matter; she wasn't very picky, and with the bird's help, she would be starting the hunt with an advantage.
Sonny was glad to be able to tell that Speedy was following her. The osprey could see prey in the distance, her yellow eyes narrowed. As she used her "bird vision", she was able to locate rabbit burrows scattered here and there. Sonny loved rabbits, but ospreys like her mainly hunted fish, hence their "fish hawk" name, but rabbits wouldn't hurt either. These would provide a good meal for Speedy hopefully, and there were plentiful burrow amounts. The bird hovered and she looked at Speedy. "There's rabbit burrows over there, a few of 'em!" She explained, gesturing with her head to the rabbit burrows in the distance.

Perhaps she could join in on the fun too with the hunting.
Speedy's ears perked at the mention of rabbit burrows. Rabbits were one of her favorite things to hunt; they were quick like her, so they provided a nice challenge. When they came closer to the burrows, she slowed her pace a little as Sonny soared in the air above her, not wanting to alert the creatures to her presence.

As she arrived a few yards from the burrows, she scanned the area for any movement that might indicate one of the rabbits might be out and about, but she didn't see anything promising. So, she would wait. She hunched closer to the ground and grew still, her keen gaze watching for slightest movement. She had done this many times before. Being a lone wolf meant she had figure out ways to hunt prey by herself and waiting outside rabbit dens was the easiest way for to catch one by surprise.
