@Blixen - set before this if that's alright?

'Wow. This is really high up.'

Such was the oh-so-profound observation of the small, mousy teen as she stood at the very precipice of death, toes right at the edge of the cliffside so that her claws dangerously dangled off with her little head bowed over to stare down into the rocks below. She wasn't really seeing anything interesting, just some rocks, a thin sliver of inaccessible beach, and of course, the ocean... but she was definitely thinking, and not of the best things.

Impulsive thoughts were a familiar occurrence for the yearling, be it either because such things were normal for risk-taking teens, that's how her brain works, or because her life has been so mundane up to this point that she just yearned to break the mold in extraordinary ways. Whatever it was, she craved the rush that went with them, and almost felt disturbed by their somewhat self-destructive nature. Her currents thoughts were of jumping, vivid images of leaping right off the cliff and diving head first into the shallow waters below assaulting her mind. It wasn't for suicidal reasons or because she was stupid and honestly thought she might live- there wasn't a doubt in her mind that she would most certainly either break every bone in her body or be impaled on one of the rocks below. She just... wondered. Wondered what it would feel like... y'know, aside from painful.

The strange, unexplainable urge tingled in her toes, which she wiggled with the hope of suppression, and numbly told herself she should probably get back before her mind goes blank and she willingly steps forward.
thank you for starting!<3

there is exactly zero reasons for blixen to be away from the borders right now. zero! none! and yet she's found herself out here anyway, as if her feet are moving completely without her permission. the edge of the forest she got lost in lingers in her view -- well, maybe, actually it's hard for her to be sure, she is really not good at directions. what if she just tried to trace her steps? would she end up lost without a cute girl to come to her rescue?

what if furi's already moved on?

her half-moping is interrupted by the realisation she isn't the only one out here. for an irrational second she thinks it's bat and a protective instinct shoves her toward the girl (who is obviously not her baby sister but), calling out "hey, hey, what're you doing?"
np! <3
Oddly enough, despite the vague temptation to leap, Sybil found herself forcible springing backward when a voice suddenly called from behind her, giving the mousy girl a good spook and sending her heart racing a thousand miles an hour. She tossed a look over her shoulder—still not completely backing away from the cliff edge or even turning around—and blankly stared at the stranger behind her, mind whirling from shock and still not completely certain what just happened or who was even talking to her.

The voice sounded feminine, and the face was of narrow, foreign shape and lovely russet-and-white coloring. Wide dark amber eyes stared at her, alight with shock and wariness... and it took Sybil a good few moments to realize why.

Because it probably looked like, to this complete stranger that didn't know a single thing about her other than she'd practically be dangling off the edge of this bluff, that she'd actually been about to jump.

She blinked, still uncertain of how to process what was going on or especially why this stranger would even care on account of having been so caught off guard. She'd been rather deep in thought mere seconds before, imagining all of the things that could happen if she jumped and philosophically debating why she would even have such an urge, and being so suddenly interrupted was like having a spear jabbed into her mind—she couldn't think.

"Just... existing??" Was the best answer she could give.

for the first frightening second after the girl jumps, blix is convinced she's about to keel over the cliff, that she'd shocked her into falling off. oh god she's a murderer ----- oh wait no she's not, it's fine. even if she's still a little too close to the cliff's edge for comfort. fighting down the adrenaline the redhead's eyes narrow, not entirely sure what to make of her answer.

"can you maybe exist not so close to the edge of the cliff?" blixen asks, "it's -- like, really unsettling." if you're gonna jump, at least have the courtesy to wait to be alone, she thinks but does not add.
