she'd learned, somewhere between her first outing and now, that the Outside was a great deal better than she'd originally thought. she'd begun to hide away a small pile of objects in the rear corner of the den she shared with @Aviana. some of these objects where a great deal prettier than the rest, a few so common and unremarkable it seemed odd that the girl had any interest in them in the slightest. but today found the girl perched at the base of a sapling near the den, gaze trained upward and warbling whine escaping her throat every few moments. trapped in one of the branches, for too high for her to reach, dangled an iridescent blue feather. her tail wagged behind her in fierce wanting, and her gaze did not shift from the prize she wanted so.
It had not been long since Loir became a full member of Morningside, and she had finally realized something she could look forward to, and that was meeting the pack's pups. Loir loved pups, she thought they were cute little things, and they had a lot to learn. She was starting to feel a slightly bit better after the fight with Vaati that had gotten Dawn injured, and Loir felt some of her confidence returning. She noticed a pup in the distance, and Loir was eager to meet her.

"Oh, hello!" Loir greeted, looking at the pup. "My name's Loir, what's yours?"
the girl's vigil was interrupted by the approach of another, and her head tilted back to fall on an absolute stranger. the girl had yet to learn any semblance of stranger danger, and so she was entirely unbothered. lightening blue gaze blinked as the woman spoke, some words familiar and their meaning deciphered, yet she was far to interested in the feather to take the time to decipher the meaning of them all.

still, the woman could help her reach her ultimate goal, and thus her muzzle pointed back up at the branches that clustered above her head. "faa."  she called out in lilting tongue, tiny whine leaving her muzzle then.
Loir offered a smile to the pup after she said her name. "Faa", in Loir's opinion, maybe meant "Faye", or another name. The pup was young, obviously, so it would take her a while to be able to say things correctly, like human children. They babbled until they could form words, same thing with pups apparently. "I'm from Morningside just like you." Loir said kindly, smiling. "If you think I'm a stranger, no need to worry."

If she was a stranger, why would she be here? Unless maybe she was misunderstanding and Faye just would maybe think Loir was a Morningsider, just not a wolf she knew.
her attempts to point out the trapped feather were to no avail, and the girl's face took on an expression that could only be described as exasperated as she turned back to hear the woman talking, still. agitation churns in her chest, at her smallness, at the fact that the feather remains so far out of reach. "faa!" she repeats, this time pointed, demanding. feather! she is a far cry from the word she tries to say, but at least she remembers the first couple letters. she rears up, batting helplessly at air as the feather taunts her. "faa! faa!"
Loir soon realized that Faye was actually meaning "feather". She was calling for her feather! Well, I'd be horrible with pups if I can't even learn their language. She thought miserably, before she hurried over to the feather and helped it reach Faye. Now, hopefully this would help. "Is that better?" Loir asked hopefully, wondering if the fact Faye had her feather would make everything better.
she huffed even as the woman offered her the prize, before remembering well-instilled manners and uttering a quick  "tha' oo," she plopped onto her rear, dragging her feather close as examining it carefully, tail wagging as she noted the sheen of it. "birb!"  she cried, remembering a previous lesson from another adult as to where they came from. she wondered if the birb would be back for it, and concern had her tail still and her face tilt back as she surveyed the sky, where birbs surely lived.
