@Nikan going to go ahead and get this up while I've got a chance, this is set for whenever they're in the area :)

They'd moved on from the forest where she'd first encountered Nikan and Serem, stopping to rest at slow-running stream that seemed to be quite populated with beavers.

Pixie had wandered away from the others briefly, in search of a quiet place to speak with her gods while everyone rested. The bitch seemed a foreign presence here - the predatory grace in her limbs marking her as a threat to any small creature who might be unlucky enough to cross her path. Silent steps led her to the water's edge where she paused in search of an appropriate offering.

She couldn't have wandered more than a couple of yards into the reeds lining the bank when the soft cry caught her attention. Soft brown ears perked to attention and swift steps found her peering down at the crumpled grey form of an injured bunny - undoubtedly it had been caught in the jaws of some other predator and had managed to escape only to find its strength waning anyways.

Her head cocked as she prodded the thing ungently with a fiery paw - a flame lighting in her wicked gaze as it squealed with pain. She snatched thing up with little care - choosing a spot on a flat stone by the water's edge as her altar. (Running water was good to have on hand when worshipping.)

Her altar lacked any of the gifts she'd so neatly arranged for her gods - they'd been left behind on the rotten stump - nor did the stone have the same blackened stain from blood. Still, she had a live sacrifice for the gods which was infinitely better than some pretty rocks - they were as blood thirsty as their servant.

"Take this gift and make me worthy," she murmured softly, the same words she always uttered under her breath to the gods. It was the same mantra her mother had so fervently clung to and her mother before her and all the mothers that had come before Pixie - it was all she knew.

Dipping her head in a move that was so often repeated, it seemed practiced and graceful, she lowered her mouth to her shoulder. Her teeth found the scar on her shoulder and she punctured her flesh with a single, savage bite. She drizzled the blood over the rabbit - marking it with her own life force so that it might appeal to the ancestors.

The girl stared down at the bunny, head swimming almost drunkenly from the exhilaration found every time she worshipped, watching the thing twitch feebly.

It was practically mercy, she thought to herself as she leaned over and snuffed out its life with a single twist of its neck.
Having found satisfaction in his roamings he finally began to head back to the group, planning to say they'd rest here for the night before he grew distracted by a loud shrill squeal. He turned his head, eyes narrowing and searching until he saw Pixie hovering over something. Curiously he crept closer from behind her inch by inch so he wouldn't be noticed right away, watching her pick the thing up and drop it on a flat stone. He remained silent, keen eyes picking up everything she did and ears catching the fact that she spoke though not the exact words she said.

He had begun to grow bored and stood to turn away until he saw her tear her own flesh open and drip it onto the rabbit. His nostrils flared as he inhaled the blood scent, a fierce hunger rising within his soul. It had been so long since he had smelled the blood of another. Too long. Shaking his head he waited until she snapped it's neck to step closer "What was that you just did? Do you like the taste of your own blood?" he asked curiously. There was no disgust evident in his voice, instead there was just curiosity.
She remained staring down at it for a moment, a soft hum of consideration falling from her fire-streaked throat as she studied her project. The witch was just about to turn when the sound of Nikan's voice came from behind her.

Pixie turned, ears pricking at the questions the darkling asked. The girl thought again of Ethos's abhorrence at seeing her creation and how she had avoided his questions on who exactly she was worshipping. Her mismatched gaze met his and Pixie was certain this was a male who would not take no for an answer.

Bowing her head in acquiescence; she gave up her secrets.

"It was devotion," she breathed, the words wild with some emotion - insanity perhaps. "Mmm, I can't deny that the taste isn't so bad," she dipped her head again, lapping at the freely bleeding wound on her shoulder. The taste of blood had become associated with the craft since a young age and in time it was not so hard for the child to stomach - in time Pixie had come to love it. Her mouth came away exploding with the coppery tang and her lips smeared with her own blood.

"But it isn't for me. It's for the gods," she says it reverently for if there's one thing she fears as much as she loves - it's her gods.
Nikan at first was disgusted by her response but it only showed in a flash of her eyes. What could be so good and so powerful that she would wound herself and mutilate food in such a way? The prospect of there being something that powerful annoyed and intrigued the male, who so sought out immense power for himself. He remained silent watching as she turned her head to lap at her wound, tasting her own blood once more, piqueing Nikan's interest in her. She was a thing of madness and mystery and Nikan was hooked, so he sat down on his haunches "Gods? I've heard many tales of them, but never bothered with them myself. Why do you do this...is there something you gain in return?" he asked. If there was something to gain then Nikan would probably be sold, so long as the gained thing was of use to him.
There was a flash of something in his eyes, something she had seen before. Disgust, abhorrence, horror. It was there in his haunting indigo eyes, that look that said he thought she was as rotten as spoilt meat.

For a heartbeat, she's more disappointed than she could put into words.

But then the darkling is settling on chocolate colored haunches and questions are spilling from his maw. The girl's mismatched gaze scanned him slowly, as if searching for something. Finally, she nodded - in acquiescence.

"The gods are not the same as those you've heard of," she circled him now, wondering what exactly the darkling was made of. "Those are but false idols, created in the image of weak men who have only the imaginations of power."

"They are older gods, darker gods. Made of flesh and bone, the same as you and me," rain began to fall, light sprinkles that went unnoticed where they dampened her coat. "I do it not only because I believe but because I must. One does not ask for the favor of the gods and then scorn them."

"I have gained much in service of them. I have gained the chance to find you, darkling,"
she whispered as stopped just behind him.

"Do not choose to serve lightly. The gods offer harsh trials, they will test you. You will hurt. But you will live, and you will rule with real power," she had passed in front of him again, stopping in front of him so that he could read the truth in her mad gaze.

"Would you like a drink?" She had seen the shudder run through him in response to her blood. She tipped her head back now, baring her throat and the wound on her shoulder. She was definitely in his personal space but a nudge and she would go. To turn her away would see her walk away calmly, but there was a challenge in her eyes and a need in the way she offered her blood to him like a vampire's victim.
He gave her his attention even when she began to speak of the gods as being unique. Everyone claimed their gods were unique in some way so Nikan was not impressed. He wasn't impressed until she said her gods were made of flesh and bone, physical in body like any wolf that roamed the earth. That was a new one to him, who had always heard of gods being invisible and uber powerful invincible merciless beings. His ears began to rise with interest unbeknownst to him and his gaze sharpened with slight interest as he let her continue speaking.

Rain began falling from a previously clear sky almost as if they were heard by said gods speaking of them. It was strange enough for Nikan to give a wary look around, looking the slightest bit vulnerable for the first time since his first real conversation with Zula. He fastened his gaze on her and watched as she circled him, tilting his head and narrowing his eyes though still remaining silent, enraptured both by her words and the way her body moved so fluently. It was the last sentence she spoke that sealed the deal for him, he would go through any challenge possible to gain true power. "There isn't any pain that will keep me from power" he growled softly meeting her gaze.

A change in his demeanor was immediate when she offered him a drink and came in closer, but it wasn't aggresive. He stood up and gave a low growl, the sound possessive and hungry as it rumbled from deep within his chest. He slowly leaned in, maw right by her ear as he spoke "You are a bewitching woman, tempting me in such a way" he growled and ran his nose down her fur slowly, provocatively.  He paused at her wound, another shudder going down his spine before he slowly lapped at her wound the taste of her blood exploding on her tongue. He groaned softly and licked it until the blood ceased to flow and then remained close, his warm breath blowing against her neck. "You will teach me. Aid me in getting power. You will teach this to my pack so the pack itself thrives." he spoke in a husky voice, obviously aroused from the act of drinking her blood.
"I believe you," she murmured, for once lacking the wicked gleam in her eyes. Her mismatched gaze flicked over him again, searching for something indefinable. For a moment, a glimmer of concern reared its head before Pixie moved away again.

If the gods saw fit to test him, it would be up to them how much pain Nikan went through. Pixie could only hope that the cost wasn't too taxing for the darkling.

Her worries were forgotten when he approached, powerful and possessive in a way that made her knees feel like water. "No tempting. Only offering," she whispered in reassurance as his muzzle traced a path down her neck. Her eyes spoke of the same devotion she offered her gods.

She would worship him, if he let her.

Pixie could not stop the soft sigh that left her lips as he drank of her blood - the harsh sting of it burned deliciously.

"Yes," she practically purred, obviously as affected as Nikan was but trying to keep up with the conversation as he finished cleaning the blood from her wound.
Her breathy agreement, her response of obedience pleased him greatly and he growled softly in a purring fashion. He smiled and nibbled at her neck, trailing sharp nips up toward her ear. For the first time ever he had someone on the same level of darkness, of the same soul as him. For the first time he hadn't needed to kidnap or beat someone into submission, no, this woman gave her subservience freely and readily. "You will be in power as well...just below me and Serem. A teacher...an enforcer of this witchcraft and sacrificial magic. Do you want it, Pixie?" he breathed the words into her ear, gingerly taking the thin flesh between his fangs and pinching before releasing again.
Pixie let her head fall back of its own will, as if she had any choice.

The sharp bite of his teeth doesn't seem to phase the witch, if anything her breathing turns harsher with the masochistic pleasure found in Nikan's touch.

The promise of power, not as vast as Nikan's to be sure, is nearly alluring as the darkling himself. She would be one of his pets, like Zula, though of another nature. It was better than she could have hoped for.

Were she a lesser woman, she might have squealed or moaned at the way he pinched her ear but Pixie had steel in her spine, she was the descendent of wolves who knew the truth of the gods and the world.

Her fiery muzzle brushed languidly through his chocolate coat, up his neck, to his ear. "There's only one thing I desire in life, darkling. To please the gods, to please you," she whispers with feverish adoration.

They've become one and the same in her twisted mind.
