Zoratto was born the son of a khasak, Remekho. He was one of many sons of the bloodfang, but enjoyed many privileges reserved for the bloodfangs, their wives, and the khal's family.

His half-sister, Aheshi, had become the khaleesi of Khal Jasso, to keep the peace between the two khalas. Zoratto would travel to Jasso's khal to meet with his half-sister alongside his father and their extended family.

It was during one of these visits that Khal Rhanno attacked Josso's khalas, killing him and capturing Zoratto in the process. When Rhanno was eventually dethroned by his son, the captive was taken along in exile, along with Rhanno's wife, Eshinni and another captive named Navi.

Rhanno left his wife and female captive behind to scout ahead with Zoratto, the former king searching for a chance to regain his power, and Zoratto waiting for his moment to strike. Eventually, they came across Rakharo and his new khalas in Teekon Wilds, joining the khalas of Hoshor Plains. He enjoyed a relatively good life there until the tornado hit, scattering the khalas to the winds, and killing his lover Azzaro. Devastated, he returned to the plains of his youth, eventually finding his birth khalas and scrounging his way back up to the top, becoming a feared and respected warrior and outrider.

That was, until his homosexuality was discovered. Now an outcast of not only his birth pack, but of all Dotharan society, Zoratto finds himself in familiar territory: Teekon Wilds.
