Following her birth in Coatl's Rise, Xiuhcoatl lived a busy little life. She was given many lessons, and was molded in to a strong-willed warrior; however, a part of her was always drawn to the religious aspect of their culture. While her efforts to become a warrior were fruitful, Xiuhcoatl also excelled under the tutelage of the tlamatiquetl (essentially the shaman), but her role in the pack would not follow such a path. She was soon replaced by the child named Eztli and given more warrior duties to attend to.

By focusing her wrath upon her new duties, Xiuhcoatl excelled, and worked her way up to the rank of Beta. It was not without some trouble; she was known for picking fights with other women, and being especially brutal towards the menfolk, and would even head off in to the wilds with troupes of warriors in order to collect men (I guess you could call it a hobby). Over time her rage cooled, or at the very least was contained, and she adjusted to her life as the Beta - and occasional diplomatic queen of the Rise.

When word reached her ears that her sister's fool of a son, Tezacoatl, was missing - well, she didn't really want to track him down. But there were limited reports from his entourage, and scouts could not confirm anything. So, after a bit of cajoling from Quetzalcoatl, Xiuhcoatl began her own search.
