Profile of Atticus: Details
Appearance
Atticus is large in the sense that he is tall, but not heavy. He is sleekly muscled, clearly well-built for speed, agility, and endurance. His glossy coat is entirely black, an obsidian so deep that sunlight dances upon it in subtle blue-violet ribbons. His eyes are a pale, chilling shade of silvery-blue.
Personality
Atticus is a sensitive, intellectual, friendly, and honest wolf. He is loyal to a fault, especially to members of his family and pack. He's never been a violent guy, preferring to concede to the other party (even if they're wrong) rather than go to blows. This doesn't mean he's a pushover, though, as he will stand his ground when the situation calls for it. He has a vulnerable heart and is easy to seduce -- a quality that's gotten him into trouble on more than one occasion.
Biography
Atticus had a fairly average upbringing with his parents and siblings in the Seahawk Valley (a fictional area located on the coast of northern British Columbia). He idolized his father, and though he was not the big, brawny, ambitious youth that some fathers want in their sons, Aether nevertheless cherished the subtler qualities in Atticus. However, Aether grew ill in his advancing age and, when he passed away, Atticus's elder brother Tyrannus took leadership of the pack. Sensing that his younger brothers might be a threat, Tyrannus ran Atticus, Crete, and Peregrine out of the pack. Over the next several weeks, the brothers migrated south and eventually settled in the Teekon Wilds, where they were accepted in the Blacktail Deer Plateau pack. They had their ups and downs, but overall, they found happiness in their new home. Though he had never been an ambitious wolf with regards to rank and hierarchy, Atticus managed to climb the ranks of his pack all the way to the lofty position of Beta. He also fell passionately in love with the pack's Alpha female, Blue Willow.

However, disaster struck. In the summer of 2014, while scouting the highlands bordering his packlands, Atticus lost his footing and tumbled a hundred feet or so down a steep incline, suffering a traumatic head injury in the process. He remained in a catatonic, unresponsive state for weeks, surviving only because of the round-the-clock care and attention of his packmates, particularly Blue Willow and Peregrine. Just when they felt all hope was lost and Atticus would never "wake up", though...he did. His return to consciousness, slow and gradual though it was, brought immense joy to everyone who knew him. But it would not last. Atticus suffered from episodes of forgetfulness and occasional relapses into his spaced-out, catatonic state. One evening, it happened again while he was out for a walk and he wandered off, disappearing from the lands.
Relations
Atticus is the son of Aether Rom DiSarinno (now deceased) and March Owl Redleaf (deceased February 2014). His littermates include two brothers, Peregrine and Crete, and one sister, Osprey. He has many siblings, older and younger, and countless extended relations that are far too numerous to list. He is uncle to Peregrine's two daughters, Osprey Jr. and Tytonidae. He has two estranged children of his own -- Bones and Kraken -- from a one-night tryst with a female vagabond named Cutlass. He only discovered the existence of his offspring in late March 2014, and after a few short months, both had departed the lands. In early 2014, Atticus fell in love with and briefly courted Blue Willow, before his head injury and subsequent disappearance.
Pack History
Accepted into Blacktail Deer Plateau in mid-January at the rank of Sigma. A very brief courtship with the Alpha female, Hawkeye, resulted in him losing her to his brother Peregrine. Peregrine's subsequent promotion to Alpha Male in the pack created a rift between the brothers that took several weeks to patch up. In early March, Atticus held the Iota rank and had not yet considered a trade.

By late May, he held the rank of Delta and was beginning to think about trades. He was also beginning to develop a romantic interest in Blue Willow, Beta female of the pack. By June, he had ascended to the rank of Gamma and was actively pursuing the Warden trade. In late June, he was promoted to the Beta rank; his brother Peregrine offered him the rank of Alpha alongside Blue Willow, but Atticus made it clear he had no desire to lead the pack himself. Atticus held the Beta rank until early August, when a terrible fall down a cliff resulted in a traumatic head injury for him. No longer able to function or provide for the pack, he was essentially removed from the pack hierarchy altogether while he was under the full-time care of Blue Willow and Peregrine. In early September, he began to regain some of his awareness and independence again. However, later that month, while out for a walk by himself he experienced a severe episode of amnesia and wandered off, never to be seen again.

A note about his early life: Because he was not a power-seeking individual, and because he was among the younger members of his family, Atticus never ranked particularly high in his birth pack and even ranked somewhat low among the puppies in his childhood. In the Flightless Falcons pack, one was given the name of a species of bird and that was the name of their position in the pack for life. The name of the position did not change, only its relative ranking in the hierarchy. Atticus chose the rank name of Atratus — black swan — for himself.
