Profile of Vanora: Details
Appearance
Vanora is a grey wolf of average size. She stands proud, holding herself just barely in the submissive range of posture when speaking with wolves who are higher than her in the pack hierarchy. This is not to challenge or offend the higher wolf, it is simply to show that she is proud. Her proud stance is embodied by a thick pelt of mainly white hairs. Above her nose is a patch of charcoal fur. That same shade encircles her eyes, though the ring is thin. These darker hairs also darken her breast, leaving a charcoal strip that, at the right angle, looks vaguely like the wings of an eagle in flight. Her face and back are also lightly peppered, causing her white pelt to appear a faint grey. Vanora’s eyes are a deep shade of brown, so dark they can barely be distinguished from the surrounding rings unless in proper lighting. She keeps a straight, yet often soft, expression. She has tamed her emotions, and this shows by the lack of feeling in her eyes and facial features.

Personality
When Vanora was a pup, she was very energetic and outspoken. She was almost always running around and getting into trouble or starting fights. When she grew old enough, her aunt taught her to fight, and in the process, taught her how to control herself. Her energetic youth grew into a calm and observant adulthood. Now, she seems to be an emotionless being, though this is far from true. She cares deeply, sometimes too much. It is rare, but every now and then she will have an outburst of energy. Unfortunately, because of her training, these outburst often come out as rage. When these occur, she will often then stow herself away from anyone else for a few days while she regains her composure.

Vanora rarely speaks. One of her fears is repeating a mistake she made in the past; voicing her feelings. Now, she will only speak when spoken to and often uses short, choppy sentences. She will elaborate when asked, though she still tries to keep things short and sweet.

Sometimes, she will become extremely close to a single wolf. When this happens, she does her best to stay with that wolf as often as she can. She thinks of herself as a guardian, and does what she can to protect what she loves. This can have its negatie effects, though, often leading to the one she is protecting striking out against her. If not that, then Vanora will fall into a depressive state if anything happens to the one she is trying to protect.
Biography
Vanora was born in the wilderness of Alaska on May 3, 2012. Her father was a Northern Rocky Mountains grey wolf who had traveled north. Her mother, a beautiful arctic wolf. When Vanora was born, she was not alone. She had a brother and sister as well. Her parent’s named them each for their appearance. Vanora was given a Celtic name, meaning “white wave”, eluding to her mostly white pelt. Her brother was named Digger, for his dirty-looking paws and flecks of dirt brown strewn throughout his pelt. His sister was Angela, for her pure white pelt and small body.

As the pups grew, their personalities became apparent. Vanora was full of energy, but built strong relations. Digger was more of a loner, choosing to play by himself than with the others. Angela was caring and calm, often helping Vanora when her energetic bursts landed her in pain. When they were grown, they were split up by family members. Vanora’s mother took Angela to train her in the ways of healing. Her grandfather took Digger to teach him about scouting missions and being an ambassador of sorts for other packs. Vanora was taken by her aunt to learn the ways of a protector.

She learned to control her energy through training and meditation. She used it to her advantage in training battles, using it to outpace the challenger. Overtime, she became a hardened warrior, trained not to show her thoughts or emotions unless necessary. Of course, her personality was still there, and this never was perfected. Soon after Vanora’s aunt declared training complete, she left her family, traveling alone through the wilderness. Eventually, she came upon a Canadian pack of wolves. They took her in, and all was well. During her time with this pack, she became close to another wolf by the name of Banyuk. He was a young wolf, barely more than a year old. Yet he was so innocent, she couldn’t help but like him. He reminded her of herself from before her training.

Vanora stayed with the young wolf as he learned the ways of the wolf. She taught him some hunting strategies, battle moves, whatever she felt he would need if she was not around. But it wasn’t enough. She had been out hunting one day. It was just her and the alphas of the pack. They hadn’t had any trouble for seasons, so they felt no worry about leaving the pack without their leaders and best defender. When they returned from their hunt, they were lost for words. Bodies were bleeding and still. Only one was still alive, and just barely. It was Banyuk. Vanora ran to him, asking what had happened. The emotions she kept suppressed were rising to the surface. Two legged creatures with thunder sticks had come. They killed everyone in sight. Banyuk’s breathing sped up and stopped, and Vanora lost it. She blacked out. When she came to, the alphas were sitting, slouched, their heads down. They looked at each other and nodded. They then turned to Vanora and told her she could no longer stay with them. It was too hard for them to see her and know that at least some of the pack might have survived had she not been hunting with them that day. So she left.

Not long after, she crossed the Canadian border. She wandered aimlessly for months. Her aimless wandering ended when she came to a land and smelled wolves. But not just a few. There were multiple packs. She stood straighter. She could make up for everything that had just happened. She could live for Banyuk. She could protect another, and this time, she would succeed.
