Born and raised in the Canadian Arctic in a close-knit community, Marek Serafin is the epitome of the rebellious heir. The only son of a predominately war based Alpha Bazyli Serafin and his mate Wiola Marek Serafin, Marek lost his mother during his birth, along with three littermates who were unable to be saved. Marek was trained to use his body and his brains against the enemy. Around two years of age, Marek balked at this requirement, falling head over heels for a daughter of the "enemy". Knowing that she was unsafe as a result of his affections, Marek challenged his father and won. In a fight to the death, Marek took the life of his father and the rest of the commune disbanded. Still, Marek knew that there was never a chance for him to court the young female. Deciding that she was safer without his interests expressed, he left the Arctic and headed south in the pursuit of redemption.
