Rana was born as a loner, though her mother, Kuja, was part of Shadowfax before then but chose to leave because of the dark alpha, Flower. Her father was a rouge, as such she never knew who he was. Her mother never wanted her, but she saw something similar to another daughter of her's who'd died, so she survived while her other siblings died. The young wolf was raised mostly by her aunt, Haze, who was also taking care of her two daughters, also with an unknown father.
After a year of living in their small family pack, Rana was taken back to Shadowfax after Flower had been dealt with. The old alpha, Syon, stepped up again when no one else rose to lead the pack.
After a time, Syon stepped down and appointed Zephyr as the alpha. Around the same time the betas stepped down, and Rana was appointed in their place.
When the flood hit Rana was separated from the rest of the pack. Thinking they'd all died, she became a loner once again. Once she'd lived alone for a few months and just getting by, she came across a small family pack and stayed with them for awhile, that is, until humans came to hunt them. Rana managed to escape without permanent damage, as she'd avoided being noticed by the humans. What gave her a problem was the feeling of hopelessness, which left small mental scars that've only recently healed.

Not long into her search in Teekon, she found Zephyr and joined Seadog Sanctuary. Her contribution to the pack consisted of bringing small amounts of prey back to the territory and wandering off. Eventually nothing in the pack could keep her there and she left the Wilds for a few months without telling anyone.
