Qamar was born and raised far in the north, on the banks of the Yukon River in Canada. Prey was plentiful; the herds of elk provided the sustenance the wolves needed to thrive. Her pack was large and powerful, commanding all those that surrounded it. Life for Qamar was idyllic. She was the only daughter of the young alpha male and female, the princess, the heir to the throne.

One night, in the throes of a blizzard, calamity struck. A coup d'etat, planned meticulously for months by her father's beta wolf (also his younger brother), finally came to fruition. The beta and his allies in the pack rose up against the alpha male and the rest. The fighting was prolonged and bloodied. In the end, many wolves lay dead, including her father and mother, and the beta male had pronounced himself the new leader.

It was too much for Qamar to bear. Terrified of the torture she would endure under her uncle's reign, she fled for the south, knowing nothing of what lay before her. She wandered many miles, hungry, weary, desperate for a new home. Finally, she arrived at the Teekon Wilds, and a new chapter in her life was about to begin. . .
