Hollow was born into a very close, and strict family pack. His parents were, however, not originally allowed to have children, as it would've been seen as an act of defiance. Starting with a litter of four, it was brought down to two by the alphas, his grandparents. His brother, Reaper, and himself were only spared because they were males. To the pack, the most important members were males, who were allowed to take partners from other packs to strengthen relations to prevent attacks. Females, on the other hand, were viewed as useless and only served to increase their number if needed, and that job usually belonged to the alpha.
Names were given to the sons based on the emotions and views of their parents, Vex Riken and Gala Berain. Hollow, for the following depression and Reaper, as their daughters' lives had been taken. The two were always viewed as mistakes and unwanted. When they came of age to be added to the ranks, they remained the lowest, put even below the females of the pack. When the midnight wolf found no way to advance in the ranks, he walked off in a random direction and never looked back.
On his travels, he found many packs but chose not to join. To him, all of them were still too close to his previous life. For a time, he even tried to run a pack, only to watch it fall apart in a matter of weeks. Eventually he found himself on the edge of the Teekon Wilds.
