Profile of Atna: Details
Appearance
Atna is mare of 13.3 hands in height. She has a stocky build. She is very sturdy mare, not quick to trip over her own feet. She has a bay roan colored coat with a darker dorsal stripe running over her back. She has chestnut mane and tail. Her legs are the same color as her dorsal stripe and fade out to her lighter bay roan body color. On her head she has a wide white blaze that covers most of her face.
Personality
Atna is a very sturdy female that is very loyal to her leading stallion Nechako. She likes to think she is boss and will often lead the herd away when Nechako has to deal with bachelor stallions wanting to steal a mare from their herd. She is quick to lash out with her hind legs for a kick and is not easily impressed.

Further developed IC'ly.
Biography
Atna was born in Blackwater River Herd though she does not carry the same genes as Nechako. Her bother was thieved away by the leading stallion while pregnant. She grew up in the herd and once Nechako decided to leave her young and impressionable mind thought it was an excellent idea to follow him. Her first heat instantly resulted in having her first foal, a young colt she named Tseax. Motherhood matured her and she claimed her spot as the lead mare.

Currently she is carrying Nechako's second foal. Though unknown to her she will have a miscarriage.

*The horses living on the Chilcotin Plateau in western Canada have not been formally recognized by the BC government, but have been present since the 1500s and were primarily used by the Salish during the gold rush.

(Also I think they're more like fat ponies.)

The plateau horse of the Canadian west coast has genetic ties to both the Berber Horse (a hardy African breed), the wild Prezewalski (a Mongolian breed from the steppes of central Asia and Siberia), and some breeds of horse found in France.
