Velox lived an unremarkable life in Flightless Falcons up until she met passerby Brooklyn Starbuck and fell madly in love. The two of them became mates and founded their own pack, Jawbone Hill, just outside the valley. When their first litter was born, they lost all but one to genetic abnormalities. Brooklyn never seemed to get over the loss of their other children. When their daughter was nearly grown, he disbanded the pack and took them back to Flightless Falcons, then vanished from their lives forever. Pied lived with her mother for a few months before venturing out on her own, though Velox wasn't left alone. She resumed a relatively happy life with her birth family, at least until the death of her parents and the rise of Tyrannus. There followed a brief period of misery and unfair expulsions, until the fall of her brother and the restoration of the Flightless Falcons to their former glory. Still, Velox felt as if her life was missing something, so she politely excused herself from the Falcons and began seeking out her daughter.
