She was born as the single child to a mother who had no desire to keep her, but was begrudgingly raised anyways. Knowing of her origins did little to remedy Kratha's outlook on life, obviously. She was never outwardly bitter about her lot in life, but when given the chance to leave behind her loveless mother, she did so easily enough. After traveling for a time, she met (or rather, was rescued by) a wolf named Tama as she wandered through a desert. Tama introduced her to the resident pack - then called Saurfang - just before a catastrophe rocked the world. The pack scattered, yet somehow the two girls stuck close. Eventually what was Saurfang became the Gnarled Oaks pack, headed at first by one of Tama's siblings, but when they vanished she took up leadership. It was here that Kratha felt most connected. The pack gradually gathered friendly faces until they were a small but stable group, yet Kratha felt a great unrest seed itself within her heart. Without confronting her best friend about what was bothering her, Kratha picked up and ran - abandoning the forest pack without a second glance.
