Appearance
Solène is a petite and feminine creature with many curves and few angles. She moves with an enviable fluidity borne of some amount of natural grace and a greater amount of careful cultivation. She bears the coloration of a snow rabbit in spring: her underside is flawlessly white while her head, shoulders, back, and tail are overload with pale grey. Speckled along the nape of her neck and trailing down her spine are a smattering of silver and black hairs. Incongruously, she has a few of these salt and pepper speckles on each of her four paws. <br><br>Her delicate and womanly facial features are expressive and adaptable to any facade she wishes to convey. Her glittering emerald eyes may at times be shuttered, but are generally more revealing than any other feature, for it is difficult to learn to school the windows to one's soul. Regardless of the persona she puts on, Solène is always the picture of good posture and upright carriage, prim and proper with nary a hair out of place, for living in squalor made her value her own appearance greatly.
Personality
Ever subject to the girl's whims, the only true constant about Solène's outward personality is a dry sense of humor that is quintessentially French. She speaks with a lilting French accent and though she is basically fluent, she is not familiar with many English idioms and turns of phrase, leading to comical misunderstandings at times.
Biography
Born in a new and tumultuous era for the pack at Troisclair Rivière, Solène was one of the new Alpha Bastion's many unrecognized bastard pups and quickly became, in effect, an orphan when her mother died soon after Solène was born. The only wolf who would take the child in was her paternal uncle Theomund, the pack's former Beta, now a loner biding his time in the nearby hills.

Raised to despise her (then-unknown) father for overthrowing Arrexe, the former Alpha and Theomund's sometimes lover, Solène was trained to seduce Bastion's legitimate sons with the intent of taking over the pack herself and elevating Theomund to his former station.

With Theomund's sly guidance Solène insinuated herself into the pack as a fiery adolescent. She went by the name of Solange, and if any recalled her similarity to a pup born in the pack over a year prior, they made no mention of it. Very near to a mateship with Dover, Bastion's eldest son and hejr, Solène felt very nearly victorious. She was ready to rule, or so she thought.

But a visit to an old fortune teller on the eve of her mateship ceremony shattered all that Solène had built her life upon. Her relationship to Bastion the Alpha and therefore to her intended mate was revealed, as was another truth: Theomund did not mean to stand beside her as an advisor, but rather to claim the throne for himself. The most awful truth of all was that he had been behind the death of Solène's mother Elette, who had perished not from sickness but from poison.

In a rage, Solène revealed her heritage and Theomund's plot to all who had gathered for their mateship ceremony the following day. Though she had little love for Bastion and none at all for his son Dover, Solène led them directly to Theomund's most secret hiding place and watched without pity as the conniving murdering bastard was killed for his conspiracy. Angry at being used as a pawn all her life, and disgusted at the abysmal state of affairs in the pack, Solène denounced them all entirely and left to pursue a different life.

Relations
Solène is the illegitimate daughter of Elette, a middle-ranking she-wolf, and Bastion de Riviere, Alpha of the pack and a notorious womanizer who unfailingly refuses to recognize the offspring of his many dalliances. Solène bears the name of de Joie as most of the pack's bastard pups do, as they were conceived, ostensibly at least, in joy. She has a slew of half-siblings and was raised by her scheming uncle, the Alpha's brother Theomund, after Elette succumbed to a rare summer bout of pneumonia.
Pack History
Solène has lived as a Loner for much of her life, never holding a true rank even when she was affianced to the Alpha's son.
