Howlett was bred and created on a military base in hopes of making a far more brutal creature for their use. His blood lines are perfectly crossed between a German Shepherd and a Buffalo Wolf, which grants him the size of the wilder canine and the coloration and physique of the domestic animal. When Howlett attacked his handlers and crippled one of the men on the base, they caged him and scheduled him to be put down. A sympathizer to his trials released him into the wild, instead. Howlett has been trekking across expanses of land and touching into low population towns to search for food. He has aided his abilities to a small few, including a gang of junkyard dogs in a secluded British Columbia town.
