The wolves of Crow’s Perch are an odd flock of individuals. They have a culture deeply rooted in magic and spirits, with a superstitious mindset when considering all things. Their goal has always been to create a lasting line that might thrive against any odds. It is of little surprise that they found a peculiar culture in this attempt; one that has proven the strongest of them truly belong.

Stag was born to one of the largest families within Crow’s Perch. The Spikeroog clan was well known for their brutish strength and vicious bite. They were often compared to the bears that roamed outside of their claim. Stag is the eldest, with only one sister as a littermate and a slew of younger brothers and sisters. Having reached the age of trying before the others, he was sent to earn his true name. In this, the young man was tasked with venturing out to the northern sea and speaking to the spirits that resided there. Having been touched by the Ignis sign, he was intended to speak with Dagon. Upon arriving to the cliffs of the northern ocean, Stag was swept from the edge by a powerful gust and tossed into the waters. He did not resurface until more than a week later.

The wolves of Velen were a small group that had claimed a stormy bay on the edge of the world. Stag had been pulled into their waters by the ebb and flow of the tide. His memory had been struck from him. When the behemoth had washed ashore on their land, they were wary and quick to cast him out. One in particular took kindness on him and offered him a name: Blackjaw. With his calling, he regained much of his strength and paid his debt to the Velen wolves before he set out on his own. He had no frame of reference for where he was intended to go or why he felt the pulling that he did.

It took several long months before memories began to return. Blackjaw had accepted his new calling and his instinct told him that this was his true name. The fleeting images of his home and the family he had left behind were faded and seemed so distant to him; he could not remember the names of his siblings.

Blackjaw spent a year traveling in search of his past and in hopes of knowing answers to the questions that plagued him. He acted as a fighter for many and did not hesitate to lend his fangs to whatever cause found him. The behemoth remained neutral in most things; he did not find value in picking a side, and knew that his loyalties belonged solely to himself and the beliefs of his people. After his travels had taken him across miles and miles of land, he was beaten by the wrath of Dagon once more and pulled into the sea. It was then that he washed ashore in another lonely bay on the coast of the Teekon Wilds.
