Profile of Jolly Roger: Details
Appearance
Not at all striking in physique or color, Roger is proportionately long and lanky without an ounce of fat to speak of. His fur is short, and painted as a rather plain mixture of ranging grays and browns—all of which abruptly switches to a pale cream color on his muzzle, cheeks, chest, underbelly, and legs. Because his pelt is so brusque, his runner's physique is invariably present at all times and almost each of his sinewy muscles can be seen while in motion. His eyes are expressive, a bright and rich orange-brown; but his most daring features are his red-backed ears and tail, besides a constant, clandestine smirk.
Personality
The nickname "Jolly Roger" stems from the two most prominent personages that this particular wolf expresses—the first being his sometimes inexplicably optimistic behavior. This usually prevails over all his other emotions, as he tends not to take anything seriously or become easily riled. He is a foul-mouthed stooge who fancies being social, but actually cares for very little, hardly even himself at times. And that is how he earned the double-meaning to his moniker, because he is just as capricious as a ship's flag changing direction with the wind.
Biography
Born on the delinquent shores of Tortuga within the notorious Redtooth Crew, it took Gibson Hoyt only five months to obtain his now-permanent epithet of "Jolly Roger" and he has since lived up to it. He and his siblings were a rambunctious group, always with the pranks and ceaseless chattering—he experienced a more or less happy lifestyle of pillaging and rough-housing until a month before his second birthday when he decided to set sail from his home and make a name for himself elsewhere.
Relations
First-mate, Pulley Hoyt, and his now-deceased wife, Seabird (Birdy), had their only five children in a single litter: Randy, Ella, Gibson, Milly, and Jackson Hoyt.
