Appearance

Height: 2 ft (at the shoulder)

Appearance:

A creature, reminiscent of the phoenix and kissed by fire. Possessing a smaller, feminine build that is dwarfed by the titans she calls family - giving off an air of vulnerability that is misleading. To venture too close to the flame is to risk being burned.

A hint of arctic blood lends her a thick plumage that results in a plush pelt, thick ruff, and bottle brush tail.

There is little variation in her coloring - her underside fading from a pale cream to a ruddy fawn to the crimson she is recognized by. Guard hairs expose their true colors under direct sunlight - glinting gold and orange like a flickering flame.

Golden eyes, brilliant as the sun, shine at you with mirth and her features seem forever on the verge of breaking into a smile.

Scars:

- Three superficial slashes on her shoulder received in a cougar attack as a child. Some shallow scratches where she washed ashore on Pili Island. These scars are long healed and barely noticeable.
- A few small scars earned in spars, training, and other various accidents over the years.
- A faded bite mark on her haunch, a departing gift from her father when he chased his daughter from the territory.
- Scars from the war, an assortment of slashes and bites on her neck and torso - mostly covered by her thicker coat.

Scent:

She smells exactly like you'd expect a coastal wolf to smell: salty, with a hint of brine. She smells like sea winds and the fog that rolls into the forests off the waves in the early morning. Seaweed, fish, mollusks, and sand leave lingering aromas from the tidepools and a faint perfume of sandalwood clings to her. If one draws close enough they may even catch a whiff of the various other scents that seem to cling to her thick coat - herbs and flora, blood, and the curiously ever present scent of Keanu.

Previous Personality:

A bold, headstrong young woman, raised wild on Pili Island. Confidence radiates from every aspect of her, from the defiant tip of her chin, the flare of her unladylike speech, and even her walk - part saunter, part swagger.

Possessing a sharp wit and a sharper tongue, she's not afraid to hold her own against the savage men she allies herself with, be it verbally or physically.

As a Reaver, she personally leads the Raiders into battle and takes a perverse pride in the private ferocity of their clan. She would willingly die for the other Islanders, and loves them fiercely.

In terms of religion, she is a devoted member of their faith, a mouthpiece for their deities.

Reconstructed Personality:

Having lost many of her siblings, her faith in Akamai's customs, and her vision for the future - she is unsure of her place in the world. She had dreams of adventures in foreign lands, conquest, and seeing her foster brother a Jarl over their own land. A new role has yet to present itself and she clings feverently to the old gods in wait.

Biography

Pre-Teekon:

She was born Ahe Ahulani amongst four other siblings to Akamai's rival - Makaoi. Her early life was not particularly extraordinary but as she got older, it became clear that Ahe preferred the company of the sea to her siblings.

In the midst of a war, her parents didn't have much time to raise her. Ahe was able to slip away often and did so eagerly, escaping to explore the many wonders of the beach. It was on one such expedition that she was cornered on a cliff by a hungry cougar.

Terrified but loathe to be a meal, the child leapt into the sea.

She was battered and tossed about but washed ashore on the rocky shore of an island not far from the coast. The child woke to a nose poking her in the eye. Startled, she leapt to her feet to find herself face to face with a male several months older than her.

Given their size difference and her confusion, she should have submitted as instinct called for her to. Ahe took the glint in his citrus gaze as a challenge instead and launched herself at his face - intent on biting off his nose.

Keanu was surprised but able to quickly subdue the younger girl. He was so amused by her reaction, he decided he wanted to be friends and the two forgot the scuffle in favor of chasing each other up and down the beach.

His mother, Ailani, was the one to find them. Unbeknownst to the children, she'd heard tale of the child kissed by fire. She recognized Ahe and soon sent her back across the land bridge, not unkindly.

Still, Ahe returned in secret - unable to stay away from her new friend - and the two began a secret friendship that was discovered within a few weeks.

Furious with their daughter for betraying them, Ahe was chased from the territory with their parting words echoing in her ears.

Heartbroken and in tears, she raced to Keanu - she had no where else to go.

Keanu comforted the girl and led her, head raised proudly, into the heart of the island to stand before his father.

Ahe cowered behind his frame, trembling as Akamai raged at his son - out of anger over her identity more than anything. Keanu faced him with a level gaze, an indication of the strength the boy king would once possess. "She's got nowhere else," he was calm as he spoke, "You will not throw her out."

Akamai was forced to actually stop and stare at his son. Finally, he nodded, and the child was allowed to stay.

Ahe was raised with Keanu and his siblings, soon becoming a part of their lives and a part of their family in all but name.

The girl started receiving 'visions' (in truth a type of seizure) as a prepubescent and was trained as a type of mouthpiece or seer for the gods- joining the ranks of the island's faith as a teen. After joining the ranks of the adults, the girl developed the profession of Reaver and led a series of assaults against her old family.

When her foster family was forced into submission by her biological father, she grovelled through her teeth for months while they lay in wait. Finally, in a last bloody battle - they wiped out her natal pack.

As the pack was turned around, becoming a home base for a dynasty of pillaging raiders and feared warriors, the family enjoyed a short period of bliss.

When it was revealed that Akamai had been lying with a young girl of the faith, it spelled the end of his marriage and the end of their pack. Members disbanded and Ailani left. Akamai isolated himself within the jungles, preferring his own company to that of his children.

It was then that the group of siblings - truly related or not - decided to head south and forge their own path.

Post Teekon:

Ahe washed ashore in Teekon to find herself alone. She wandered Sequoia Coast in search of her siblings and after a month, came across Keanu. They currently reside in Gilded Bay while Keanu recovers from his own journey at sea.
