Kerberos still harbors a deep love of the sea ( and seaweed remains a favorite treat ) but the great bears: Atka, Mother of Light and Sos, the Dark Father have created a civil war in his mind, both vying for him and reluctantly sharing him. Kerberos invited the Dark lord Father into his heart by what he turned to in his darkest of hours when famine struck his home. The dead were too numerous to bury and their numbers too thinned by the pestilence. Kerberos and his living children: Hann, Baal and Cupun turned to cannibalism to dispose of the dead to avoid attracting unwanted attention from predators believed to be worse than the quartet and to fill their aching bellies. It’s become an addiction and to the Aok there is no meat that can compare to that of his own ilk. He tries to abstain, Atka’s stubborn and defiant cling to him allows him to see the moral light and recognize that his cannibalism isn’t right but she does not always win and her hold upon the Aok slips far too often.
