won't you share this jam with me? - RIP Issun - February 27, 2016

For Mercenary. Hoping for a friendly spar. AW!

The ebony wolf had the urge to wander a little out of his territory. The moment he set foot on neutral grounds, his paws took him to Greenwater Lake. It wasn't because he was thirsty: it was because he felt it was a need. It was the last place where he saw Nemesis and he couldn't help but feel she would be there again someday.

Upon arrival, he kept on high alert. Issun trotted around the water's edge, eyes darting around for that other dark pelt. To his happiness, she was nowhere in sight. Good.

The yearling turned towards the water, dipping his muzzle to take a drink. Senses were still sharp and ready.

The lake was closest to Blackfeather Woods, and Cicero enjoyed keeping close tabs on it to see who passed it. When he noticed a wolf in the distance just as he scouted about, his attention was therefore immediately drawn towards the stranger. Wind brought him the scent of Malice as Cicero approached, which put him at ease somewhat. He had had pleasant conversation with Malice — though she intrigued him and he wished to find out more about her and her pack — he held no qualms with her.

The other wolf was alert, doubtlessly already noting Cicero's arrival. Cicero remained neutral, his body exuding calm. "Hello, wolf of Malice," Cicero greeted, a thin smile on his face. He did not enjoy being around males much, the fear still embedded somewhere inside, but knowing that he was one of Malice's put him to ease enough to approach and start conversation.

He turned his head at the arrival of the stranger. The sounds belonged to a young patchwork wolf. Seemed to be about his age. The smell of Blackfeather rolled into his nose. Though he wasn't fond of their neighbors at all, Issun kept a neutral stance. Malice didn't want to start a war and the yearling would respect her orders.

"Hello," he greeted. "What might your name be?"

The other remained neutral, as Cicero was, and asked for his name after a curt greeting. Cicero thought it funny, that wolves would ask of his name before offering their own. Was it forgetfulness, or a thirst for knowledge and a wish to guard their own information? If it was the latter, there was much to learn for them; a name was generally not prized information. Then again, perhaps his own lack of guardedness towards the information of his name was because his appearance was so unique others would be able to identify him regardless if they so wished.

"Cicero." He did not ask for a name in return. This wolf would simply be Wolf of Malice until a name was offered. "Enjoying the new home?" he asked. He had no qualms with Moonlit Hills, for he'd had pleasant enough interactions with their Alpha; if anything, the fact the wolf was one of Malice's made him more receptive and friendly, for Cicero deemed her mostly harmless.

The wolf before him didn't alter his demeanor. It had Issun become a bit more at ease. It showed that the Blackfeather wolves may not be as hostile towards them as he thought.

"Mmhmm," he hummed, "Things are fine." There was a trespasser, but they had taken good care of it. He was positive she wouldn't be back anytime soon... unless she wanted the rest of her tail gone.

"So, what brings you out here Cicero?"

The wolf of Malice seemed secretive, although Cicero could not tell for sure. The 'how are things' question was always the hardest to gauge truth upon, for many wolves lied out of politeness alone. A return question was given before Cicero could think much of it however, and he decided to simply try and throw himself at the conversation. This wolf interested him if not only because he was one of Malice's, and she interested him greatly, for she was a wolf of many layers and it had seemed so easy to carefully peel loose each layer the last time they had met. The nakedness with which she had given her replies to his carefully placed questions intrigued him greatly.

"Well, wolf of Malice, Cicero is one of Blackfeather's Scouts. He likes to keep an eye on surrounding territories. Cicero also finds Malice an intriguing and pleasant wolf to converse with, and so he imagined the same may count for her followers." A mischievous glint shone in Cicero's eyes as he looked at Malice's wolf, wondering if he was yet ready to peel some of his own layers off. Starting with his name, perhaps — but hopefully more would follow.

A scout. It was a trade he himself had looked into from time to time. Issun was one to never stay in one place for too long. An adventurer at heart, always willing to evaluate the lands around him.

"I'm one of Moonlit Hill's warriors," he barked, "I've been aspiring to obtain the trade as of late." Yes, it surely seemed he was always trying to look for a friendly fight. "Say, maybe you would like to have a friendly spar?"

The thought of a spar struck fear into Cicero's heart, but at the same time thrilled him. To get so close and yet stay in control, perhaps... But the real doubt lingered in the fact that Cicero himself was no fighter, and he was afraid of what might happen then. This was one of Malice's wolves, and yet even that offered no solace or guarantee. The only reason he did not fear Malice herself was because she didn't have the right tools.

"Cicero is no warrior, wolf of Malice," he said, still unaware of the wolf's name. He sat down, clarifying that he did not intend to fight. "It would not be a very fair battle." Perhaps they could practise some moves, but if Cicero had his way, there would be no physical altercations involved.

The male did not seem to be in the mood for a fight. "Would you ever want to be?" he asked, curious of the answer. There was always the wolves that preferred not to battle, but instead harness their skills in other activities. Maybe Cicero was one of those wolves.

"Please, call me Issun," he said quickly after.

RE: won't you share this jam with me? - Cicero - March 15, 2016

"No. Cicero's strengths lay in other areas." It was nice of the wolf to ask rather than assume, and he did not press it, which was nice. Getting so close to another male was a no-go for now, and he was glad that Issun respected that. Glad to have gotten his name without asking — even casual meetings from which one needed nothing were good to practise fishing for information — Cicero wondered what information he could get from the wolf next.

"Are there many warriors at Moonlit Hills?" asked Cicero, curious if Issun was a unique sort or not. Malice herself seemed like she was able-bodied, so Cicero guessed there were more, but maybe he could find out how many and how good they were.

His next question could not be answered confidently. He, surprisingly, hadn't made conversation with many, so he wouldn't know for sure. "I haven't met many yet," he stared, "I wouldn't know for sure."

"What about your pack? You're Beta seems like a good fighter. Could you say the same for the rest?" Maybe it mainly focused on mercenary. Maybe their skills were spread all 'round.

RE: won't you share this jam with me? - Cicero - March 18, 2016

It seemed word of Nemesis travelled fast; Issun asked for other warriors, besides their Beta. Cicero hesitated a beat or two whether or not to give out this information, but ultimately he saw no problems in it. It wasn't like it was hard to find out about it through other channels. "Our Alpha is a good warrior, too. And my brother..." He trailed off, a soft smile on his face at the thought of Damien. "There are a couple of others, Cicero thinks. Blackfeather Woods has a fair share of warriors." All in all, they had a fair bunch. Cicero knew Xan was training to be a warrior, and if he was correct Kove was a warrior, too, which had probably inspired Xan in the first place.

Then Cicero decided that it was time to depart. They had exchanged pleasantries and Cicero could not offer the wolf what he was looking for — a spar — and so after exchanging some talk of warriors in both their packs Cicero thought it time to go home. "Tell Malice that Cicero said hello," said Cicero and he got to his feet, ready to leave. "Cicero will depart now. It was a pleasure, Issun." He dipped his head in greeting to accomplice his words and then Cicero turned round and started to make his way back towards Blackfeather Woods.
