Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 10, 2016

@Charley Pryor lesson thread <3

Zaavier mumbled to himself -- as always -- as he walked through the forest. His paws and muscles ached to do something, but with his recent injury on his shoulder from that bitch from Sleeping Dragon, he wasn't able to do much. He had a visible limp, and his fur was still stained with blood for he didn't care to wash himself off. He meandered around for a while, sniffing at the new buds to make sure they weren't herbs. He was worried, for he hadn't been able to apply a poultice to the wound. He didn't want it to get infected. He washed it every day with his tongue but he supposed that water would to the job better.

He limped down to the bank and stood there for a second, looking worn out and tired, before stepping into the water. Each step took him deeper and deeper into the chilly liquid. He went from ankle deep to neck deep in no time at all, wincing at the sting it brought to his injury. The water would hopefully help and he bent his neck to lap at the wound. A faint crimson color clouded a little bit of the water around his shoulder as it washed the long dried blood away, but that was all. He pinned his ears as he continued to lick at the wound.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - June 13, 2016

Charley had been scarce since the calf hunt, nursing his wounds and broken pride. He'd not returned to Aspen since then, or anyone for that matter. Around the borders he'd stalked, daring any of those Dragons to show their faces. The gash on his face still burned though it was healing well, but it hurt worse to remember hed lost his own kill.
Today, he headed for the lake to fill his belly with water. It wasnt the meat he, and everyone, so craved, but it gave him an illusion of being full. He'd scented the seer bitch, the alpha female, on the borders and among his home again, and it pissed him off she hadnt stayed gone. In his carribean eyes, shed corrupted his friend Reek. Perhaps something at the lake could provide a distraction?
It seemed as though the brutes wishes came true as he approached, seeing the slim form of Zaavier. With a worn out chuff of greeting, Charley headed for the only one who could share his anger with the hunt and the rival pack.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 13, 2016

Zaavier turned his tired head and his gaze landed upon his newly made friend, Charley. The first thing he wanted to ask him was about how it was going with Aspen, just to tease him, but he seemed in no mood for it. If Zaavier opened his mouth just then, he probably would've found his neck in Charley's jaws.

He did his best to remain friendly and he wagged his tail the best he could. But he was tired, and he shoulder pained him. Any idiot could see that. He moved around and stepped out of the water to greet him, touching his nose to his shoulder respectfully. "How's it going, my friend?"

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - June 14, 2016

Charley trusted Zaavier, though for the Pryor he was not somebody who had broken through walls and actually befriended the brute. He found himself rather liking the man, however, and thought perhaps one day he would be a closer friend. Bitter and nasty as he likely looked right now, he was actually pretty calm for the most part. He was thankful the smaller male could provide something else for him to focus on, and the ragged male actually gave him a half assed smile and a weak wag of his tail.
"Well as it can, I bet. Hopefully now that things are beginning to regrow, we can get more in our bellies but water."
As if to highlight his words, the patchwork male bent to the water and drank. For a long minute he drank, filling his belly and hoping to ward of the hunger pains in his stomach.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 15, 2016

Zaavier watched as Charley meandered up to the bank and dipped his head to the surface, salmon tongue lashing out to gather drops of the liquid. "If only water was the equivalent to meat, am I right?" He said with a joking attitude, although he really did wish that were true. It would help them all in a time like this.

He continued to wash his wound until the burning vanished for the time being. He limped up to Charley to inspect his own wounds, splashing through the water in the process. "Where did those suckers getcha? With the greenery beginning to grow back a little bit, maybe I can pinpoint some needed herbs for you and me." He said, explaining his actions as his eyes scanned his friends body.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - June 16, 2016

Charley chuckled, loosing a flurry of bubbles from his muzzle as he drank, but still the beast drank. Yes, if only the lake could be equal to meat. Then he could feed his goddess, the pup of the grotto, his pack, himself. He could stop feeling guilty, stop worrying.
As the smaller male beside him questioned his pain, finally, the Pryor lifted his dripping ebony maw from the lake. A deep gash flowered across his cheekbone, but other than some other little nips here and there, he was fine.
"Just this one on my face, really. Surprised there isn't more."
Bitterness rang through his growled words, but also sadness. He'd CAUGHT that calf, so why the hell had they abandoned it to those damn Dragons?

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 17, 2016

Zaavier studied the wound, noting every little inflamed spot and place where a smidge of fresh blood was present. A list of helpful herbs ran through his brain and he already set to work mapping out the territory in his mind and trying to pinpoint the most likely places where those plants would grow.  He'd been studying his herbs and with the lack of plants to find, he'd had more time to do that. Gosh, what Zaavier wouldn't do for some Marigold at the moment.

He stepped back and gave Charley a smile. "It looks good so far, just make sure you keep it clean. If it starts to get inflamed or hurts more, come to me or Reek." He told him swiftly. Charley never asked for any advice for the wounds, but Zaavier gave it to him anyways, wanting to make sure that the cut healed properly.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - June 19, 2016

The mention of Reek brought sour thoughts to mind, but the Pryor showed no signs of it. His last conversation with Reek had pushed him away from his old friend, moreso than he ever had been, but still he stayed. Mostly for Aspen, of course, but at least if he wasn't pressured towards this crazy new religion, he could stay out of the spotlight and be as much a part of the pack as he had been so far. Zaaviers advice was welcomed, however, and with a dip of his head Charley smiled. Stubborn and prideful as the man was, he had no wishes to have an infected would upon his face.
"Thank you, Zaavier, Ill be sure to do just that."

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 21, 2016

Zaavier smiled and an idea popped into his brain. "Hey, have you been working on your battle strategies lately? It might help if you run into one of those Sleeping Assholes again," He asked him, eyebrows wiggling to gain Charley's interest. It was Zaavier's way of asking to teach him some of his battle moves.

Ever since he had taught Vuk how to fish, Zaavier had found great pleasure in teaching others. Maybe teaching Charley some tips and tricks would get his mind off of obsessing over his wound, and more on living life right now. his tail wagged with excitement.

Crappy post :D

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - June 26, 2016

The word battle was enough to catch Charley's attention, and with a grin he fell into a play bow. The thought of him getting to use a couple moves on a Dragon was close to making him want to run out there now and challenge one. However, his carribean eyes flicked to his friends wound before going back to his face.
"Sure your leg can handle it? Wouldn't wanna hurt you more."

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - June 30, 2016

Zaavier gave him a playful smile and got down in the play bow, tail wagging to and fro. "Nah, it'll be alright. This spar will be worth the extra nursing," He told him with a smile. His ears flicked back and forth as he awaited the combat, his shoulder slightly burning the whole time. Little did he know, he would soon get it re-torn with a battle with Thuringwethil. His tail continued to lash back and forth and his tongue lolled.

Despite the fact that this is a lesson thread, we should probably wrap up soon because we are no longer part of the pack, lol

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - July 03, 2016

Do another post or two each then? Zaavier and Charley for sure have to meet in the Hinderlands again and talk :3

Charley didn't want to hurt his friend, but Zaavier was insistant and this brute had a lot of pent up energy. Bursting from his crouch and charging right for the brown male, the Pryor was straightforward.
Or was he?
Diving for Zaaviers leg, he seemed to miss, slipping right past him and spinning to face the dusty man yet again, lashing out with heavy paws and biting forward at his partners flank with his lips curled over his teeth: no blood was going to be shed within packmates, not on his watch.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - July 17, 2016

Sure, and definitely!

Zaavier watched as Charley shot towards him, missing and swinging himself around to leap at his flank. Zaavier spun around and Charley missed, although made slight contact with the tip of his tail. With his injury, he hadn't been able to move as fast as he'd liked.

Zaavier spun around himself and leaped for Charley's back, aiming to bowl him over and pin him down. He angled his paws so his pads would be the only thing making most of the contact. There would of course be a slight prickle from his claws, but there was no way to prevent that because wolves don't have retractable claws.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - July 21, 2016

Charley's jaws snapped on fur harmlessly and he opened his jaws again, swearing he'd gotten at least the tip of his tail. Still not good enough.
He had little time to think before Zaavier was lunging for him, and Charley took the hit and in fact went with it, rolling both of them over a time or two. He nipped almost playfully at his partner's face and whatever else he could reach before shoving away and scrambling to his paws. Already he was panting, his gut growling in protest of more used energy that it didn't have, but his tail wagged. A grin was spread across his jaws, even as his blue eyes locked onto Zaavier's movements.

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Zaavier - July 25, 2016

Charley was panting, and Zaavier was panting. With a huff, Zaavuer slipped off of his friend and plopped into the ground next to him, shoulder burning, but he could give a shit. He had fun! A kind of fun he hadn't had in months. He laughed as he calmed down, sides heaving. "Can't believe how much energy I've lost," he said between breathes. "I'm pooped."

With that, Zaavier took a long breath and let his eyes flutter closed, opening them to slits again so he could peer at the multi-colored brute. "Imma take a nap," he said.

Fade with your post? <3

RE: Some Things Are Worth Fighting For - Alder - July 27, 2016

Zaavier was the first to hit the ground, but Charley was seconds after, thumping to the earth and sprawling out along his side.
          "Me either, this damn famine."
He used to be able to spar much longer than that, but it had been a good outlet for his tension. They fell into a silence, and his friend murmered something about a nap. Charley grinned and mumbled something that sounded like agreement before slipping off himself.
