Further Acquainted - Amber - June 21, 2016

@Casmir since Amber hasn't met him :3

Amber was becoming more familiar now that she'd had some time within the Silver Creek lands, but she hadn't come far in meeting many yet. She had risen in rank, it seemed, to Epsilon. Perhaps it was though default, perhaps it was through hard work of memorizing the lands.
For now, she looked for the company of another. She sniffed about the land for nobody in particular, but the shadowy woman sure hoped one of her packmates showed soon. The creature came across a stream first though, and stopped to fill her belly with the cool liquid.

despite the grief of his heart, Casmir was happy. Laika was his mate, and he was healing, slowly but surely. a trip would need to be taken to Donnelaith, and quickly, but for now he was enjoying the company of his mate. his mate -- he couldn't even believe it. a stupid smile wreathed his muzzle as he stole out for a drink.

a dark wolf was there, a pretty one with the scent of the Creek on her, but these days Cas only had eyes for Laika, though he could appreciate beauty. the girl had piercing blue eyes; he grinned into them and waved his plume. "we haven't met yet. i'm Casmir Mayfair. Laika's mate," he added, unable to help himself.

Amber wasn't alone long. A similarly colored male showed up swiftly, friendly and introducing himself at once. The shadowy queen mirrored his elated smile as she brought her face up to turn to him.
            "Amber Ciel, Spring's sister."
Her own feathery tail waved behind her, and the hopeless romantic couldn't help but feel a little sad he was taken.
Clearly, however, he was not for her, but for the Laika girl she'd met just days ago. She would find her one. Amber was happy for the female and Casmir, wished them all the best, just a little sore a good looker like this one was taken.
                           "Congratulations to you and Laika."

she flashed him a smooth smile and revealed herself to be Spring's sister. both of them were pretty in their own right, and Cas was enjoying being the only dude among all of them. "thank you, and welcome to the Creek," he added in his warm baritone, sweeping her with warm golden eyes before dipping his head to drink again.

"have you been out here long? hunting?" the Mayfair inquired, turning to glance out at the land beyond them. it was gaining some green, he saw, though it still had a long way to go.

Amber dipped her head in respect, and gave a wave of her tail in thanks. His next question brought her head shaking, and she turned her soul searching eyes around as if some prey would magically appear.
It didn't.
"No, I only just left my den a little while ago to walk. Actually hoped to meet another of my pack members."
She had little interest in hunting, actually. She would, obviously, for the pack and when she needed it, but her true talents had yet to be found, what she really wanted to do with herself. Perhaps healing, but then again it was poisons that came as more of an interest.

"well, you've met me. wanna walk?" Cas burbled, flirting a little despite himself. it was all harmless anyway. he fell into step alongside amber and inhaled the freshness of the air. however, despite the friendly nature of their meeting, he could not help but search around them for any movement that might reveal the position of prey. hunger had turned him into an opportunist -- he could not help himself.

She followed the ebony man forward with ease and a nod, her long legs keeping up easily. A smile lit up her face, but she kept reminding herself that Casmir was taken. Handsome as he was, she would not flirt with a married man. Laika was her friend, plus all that would accomplish was trouble in the pack. Amber couldn't rise in the pack, might not even have a place in the pack if she were to step into the betas relationship.
"So, what do you do around here?"

RE: Further Acquainted - Casmir - July 19, 2016

Amber was a mysterious sort -- Casmir would not deny he felt a bit of a draw toward her, but he was a happily married man! Laika deserved better, and so he undirtied his thoughts and cupped his ears toward the seductive cadence of the dark queen's voice. "hunting, patrolling. i also help take care of Saena's children -- i'm their older cousin." it was still sort of thrilling, admitting he was related to the boss-woman around these parts. "what about you? what kinda role do you want in the Creek?"

RE: Further Acquainted - Amber - August 01, 2016

Unlike Casmir, Amber had nobody to clean her thoughts for; she kept on thinking, all the while telling herself he was taken. Sure, there was always the chance they just wouldn't work, but the dark woman wouldn't be the reason. No, no, no. He didn't make it easy: he was a provider, a guardian, and overall he was one of the wolves not just taking care of but actually related to the orphan girls, a family man. As far as Amber knew, he was the ONLY one related to them in the pack. But the ebony man asked about her next, and she had to think for a moment.
"Well, I'd like to climb as high as I can in the ranks, of course, but I'm interested in the stars and toxocology."

RE: Further Acquainted - Casmir - August 02, 2016

if Cas had known Amber's thoughts, he would be totally blushing right now. as it was, he did not, and so remained blissfully unaware of what was going on in her head. "toxic...ology?" he murmured, stumbling over the word. he'd never heard of it before. the star part went ignored; Amber held his full attention and Cas even paused in his walking, to train his eyes on the dark woman and wait for her teachings.

RE: Further Acquainted - Amber - August 06, 2016

Cas tried his best to mimic her final word, but it didn't fare well. It did bring forth bell-like laughter from Amber though, and after she settled she explained further. He stopped in confusion, and for that she was glad: it kept her from running into things while she was laughing.
"Toxocology. Poisons, antidotes, symptoms, stuff like that."

RE: Further Acquainted - Casmir - August 06, 2016

she laughed, but it didn't seem like she was mocking him. her peal of laughter was radiant, delightful, and he grinned, his eyes lighting. "'m not too good with big words," Cas grinned, mocking himself for her benefit. Amber went on to explain, and his eyes widened. "that is so fucking bad ass!" he exclaimed, completely forgetting not to swear in front of someone he barely knew.

RE: Further Acquainted - Amber - August 07, 2016

God, why did he have to be taken? He was cute, had a sense of humor, and to top it off he thought her dreams were "badass"... Which Amber totally agreed with. An ivory grin spilt her unmarked maw, and once again her laughter sang around her.
                "Fuckin' right it is!"
She wheezed with laughter, shaking her head and starting to walk again. She rubbed against him in playful friendliess, butting her head against him before bounding ahead in a silent challenge.

RE: Further Acquainted - Casmir - August 10, 2016

Amber swore right back at him, which of course earned her major brownie points as well as elevated her attractiveness in Cas' eyes. the boy nipped at her cascade of dark fur before barking once, stride lengthening into an immediate gallop. challenge accepted. the wind's voice rose in his ears -- he hummed beneath his breath, growling as he drew up beside the dark wolfess and sending a playful snap in her direction.

RE: Further Acquainted - Amber - August 10, 2016

Her accepted her play and engaged, and Amber's paws worked harder as his teeth closed around her fur. It wasn't aggressive, of course, but it sent a wave of adrenaline through her. Soon enough, the two inky wolves were galloping across the lands of Silver Creek. Every couple of lengths she kicked up her heels at his shoulder, bounding forward a pace or two before falling back to his shoulder: they were perfectly matched, and this was more fun than Amber'd had in a while.

RE: Further Acquainted - Casmir - August 14, 2016

Amber was a fun wolf during this race, meeting his fake attacks with those of her own, and sending a fit of riotous laughter through the boy. eventually he lunged ahead, trying to lose the darkfurred woman among the winding trees. maybe he would best her after all, but Cas wasn't betting on it. Amber was a tough case, which the Gamma welcomed. he needed this, the pounding of their paws against the earth, the rush of the wind -- he needed it to forget what was going on.
