Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Bastian - November 19, 2016

Intrigued by the pack @Asherah had told him about, he sought out the pack over the next few days, eventually finding the familiar feminine scent. He dropped his bag in front of his paws, leaning forward to sniff the thick border. He licked his lips at the thick scent — women in heat, women carrying — yet there was only a single male among them. Lucky bastard, some might say.

He tilted his head back, calling to the matriarch — @Eshamun — and whomever else was in the area. Hopefully Fraülien Asherah would come and back him up as he attempted to join their ranks.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Giana - November 19, 2016

Giana had been feeling rather restless lately, and tonight she just so happened to be on a leisurely patrol along the borders when a howl rent the air. Ears fanning forward to catch the tones of a male calling to her leader, the ivory female strode forward until she was trotting his way. The pouch she'd developed kept her from bursting into the run she wanted to, but Gia was content to appear at a fast stalk, hackles raised and lips twitching back to reveal her fangs.

"Who are you, what's your purpose here?"

Her words rang out, clear and harsh like the crack of a whip, and though she came a few more paces closer, tail flagging over her back, the pregnant female kept a decent distance from the stranger. There was no need for introductions if the man wasn't here for any good reason, and she'd rather not bother Eshamun if it didn't need to be such -- Gia took it upon herself as the greeter to show her dominance and ask the questions her leader would no doubt need.

Her stormy eyes roamed first to the.... Bag? What the hell? There was a skin of an animal at his feet, coiled up and clearly holding something within. For now, she didn't comment, letting her judgemental gaze roam over the man without hesitation as she waited his words.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Asherah - November 20, 2016

The call at the border caught her interest, bloated and restless as she felt. The children within her were preforming acrobatics, it seemed, kicking and fighting. She took joy in the movements, chuckled softly as her belly waved like the ocean, but also winced at the discomfort. Tiny paws would hit her lungs, her bladder. They would steal her breath and make her feel as if she could wet herself. When the call rose she gladly turned her attention away from the discomfort and, slowly, trot off to see who knocked.

Her eyes lit up as she recognized a familiar face. Giana stood protectively at the border, hackles raised and nose wrinkled in a snarl. Asherah was instantly struck with love and admiration for her sister, defending the border and her family so strongly. She moved up quickly, but let her approach be heard. She pulled up beside her sister and greet the woman first, eyes sweeping over Giana's pregnant form. "Your babes grow stronger by the day, Giana, and you grow more radiant in your motherhood." Her words were sincere, warm and loving as if the woman were truly a blood relation. In Asherah's eyes, she was.

Finally she swept her gaze to the male. "I see you made your way here afterall, Doctor Bastian. A pleasure to see you again." She beamed, though her gaze was pulled to the odd thing at his feet. She had not noticed this bag when they last met. "Bastian and I met recently, as I explored and sought new wolves for the pack, Giana. It appears we have struck his interest." She said, being sure to include the other woman in her conversation. "Doctor Bastian, this is Giana; Giana, meet the good doctor. A healer would be a good addtion given our current expectant status, don't you think?" She turned her gaze to Giana, tilting her head.

She hadn't gotten to know the man much, not deeply. He was a man with a trade. The male part intrigued her for the purposes of the pack. They currently only had Ar-Khalba, they would need more. The trade too would come in handy. His devotion to Molech she wouldn't be able to say, she couldn't speak for the male or what bonds he might make with the Many Armed God. She wondered what Giana's opinion was and though her gaze hinted at the question she did not ask out loud, for it would be rude.

Eshamun would be the deciding factor, would have to access and approve.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Eshamun - November 20, 2016

the voice of a man was upon the air.

eshamun paused where she had been laying a rabbit in a cache, near to where asherah had made her den. so. molech had provided after all. not only could this be a man for the kurvat to oversee, perhaps this was the god's way of telling the ekar-aji she need not stray far to fulfill her promise. eshamun finished her task and slid into a smooth lope, one that carried her to a stop between the bristling giana and the sweet-voiced asherah.

her viridian eyes fell upon the man, roamed over the odd thing at his feet, and lingered atop his altogether mangy appearance. "for what have you come?" the ekar-aji asked gently, returning her gaze to his face. if he wished a place here, the man would do well to give an honest answer.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Bastian - November 23, 2016

He was not alone at the borders for long. The medic was left to contemplate for a few moments, only to see a pregnant woman barrelling towards him, tail curled over her back. His lips twitched at the sight of her. Round, in her second trimester most like, with stormy eyes, she was instantly a target for Bastian's...interests. He opened his mouth to greet her, only for Asherah to stride into the scene. Bastian's eyes alighted immediately. Guten tag, meine Fräulein, He smiled at the familiar form. She introduced him in a more positive light to the hostile female — Giana, was her name. I am glad to be meetink you, Fräulein Giana. Fräulein Asherah speaks zhe truth; zhere ist no need for hostilities.

It was not long before another woman joined them — he was going to be accepted here, he was going to have to get used to this constant influx of women — small and petite, her eyes piercing to his burning green. He sensed through her confident stride that she was of high rank. He focused his attentions to her completely, straightening himself up. Ah, hallo. I am Bastian Höffner, a Doktor. I am wishink to exchange my medical services for a place to be stayink in for zhe winter; but Fräulein Asherah has convinced me to join your ranks,

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Giana - November 24, 2016

Giana didn't shift her position until Asherah's pawsteps came up to her side -- the woman's words brought her rusted features to smooth, and though her tail was still curled over her back, licking her lips anxiously, Gia didn't press further. Instead, a thankful rumble formed in her chest, and she turned her face momentarily from the possible threat to give her sister a nuzzle. The stranger's words and accent brought her stormy gaze back to him, and she nodded vaguely to show that while she'd heard and understood, she would be paying close attention. Not a soul would hurt a hair of anyone within these borders if the Angelo had anything to do with it. Asherah went on to explain that he was a healer, that Bastian here could help with the pups and overall health. Keeping her brooding silence, Giana shrugged lightly -- she was too mistrustful to allow someone so new around her children, but if Asherah trusted him.... Even though she never had been a social creature, she gave an attempt for the sister she stood beside.

"Suppose we'll see how the Ekar-Aji feels about the matter. A healer would strengthen us for the Winter."

Eshamun was the next to arrive, and while Gia couldn't resist the slight prickling of protectiveness that again rose her hackles, her tail lowered in deference to the Ekar-Aji. Like with Asherah but maybe a lot more personal the Angelo turned to rub her muzzle against the shoulder of her leader -- the firebrand had to ask the question she'd demanded first, and some part of Giana was upset that though she'd been here to ask first, she could not give the information Bastian already was. There were other ways to gain the attention of Eshamun.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Asherah - November 24, 2016

Giana's nuzzle earned an affectionate rumbled from Asherah's chest as she returned the gesture. She adored the closeness of her sisters, the true family way of the pack. She noted that Giana relaxed some at her words about the male, but also saw that she did not ease completely. That was good. Though she had spoken with the male before, she could not claim to know his soul. He would be watched if he did make it within the pack, and though she was smiles and sweetness, she too would be wary of letting him near her young. Ar-Khalba, even, would have to tread carefully.

Asherah grinned at the male's greeting, listening with interest as his accent twisted familiar words to new sounds. "Certainly." Asherah replied to Giana's words, nodding. "Eshamun will give her verdict, and likely watch for sometime if it is a positive one. He will be as Ar-Khalba though." She said this with a gentle look to her sister, her voice soft so that only the woman might hear. He would come only when summoned and would not impose himself on the sisters. Such was the way. Giana had no reason to interact if she did not want to.

Eshamun was greeted with a wave of her tail and a warm and welcoming nuzzle. The man spoke for himself and Asherah nodded. "We spoke only briefly of Molech, and I did not explain all of our intricacies and differences. I knew you would be better to shed light on that, though he knows we live differently from other packs, that we follow Molech." She wanted Eshamun to know what must be covered with the male, so that her leader did not think him better informed. Asherah would not be hurt if he were denied entrance, though a part of her hoped she had successfully drawn in another male.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Eshamun - November 24, 2016

giana's greeting did not go ignored; eshamun turned her attention briefly from the man to glance into the depths of the woman's eyes, and knowledge came to her. flattered by this, the ekar-aji then touched her muzzle to asherah's cheek. at last the man who had answered her question was given her attention, and the canaanite gazed full upon him before she answered. "a doctor. a man of medicine." she paused. "as you can see, children shall be born unto us soon, bastian. have you knowledge of children?"

and molech. "as asherah has said, we worship the eight-armed one here. molech is the one who has given us this land, and the malkaria has paid for it in blood." at the revelation, eshamun's expression tightened somewhat, but smoothed in the next instant. "to live among us is to know molech, to respect our laws, and to be second to women at all times. among the malkaria, your sex means you are a servant, needed, given a role, but you are not a woman."

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Bastian - November 26, 2016

The women were close to each other, as evidenced by their constant rubbing and praise of one another. He noted it with slight annoyance — if one was sick or disappeared, they would notice — but cast it aside. He would deal with it. He could deal with it.

A few random, unknown words were thrown around. He could not distinguish between name and title, though he did recognize Molech of all things. Molech, Molech, Molech. They were quite fanatical, weren't they? Surely they would tolerate a man of more...secular ideals if he proved himself useful enough. Children are of no problem for me, gnädige Frau. I know enough to treat sick children und help mothers with pregnancy, He said, his chest swelling with pride; he knew quite a lot for someone who would never bear children himself.

The Doktor shrugged at what Eshamun said about men's roles. Servants? Second to women? Das ist fine. A medic ist meant to be helpink, not to be leadink, anyway, gnädige Frau, He smiled, undisturbed or preturbed by the thought of being a servant to the women of the pack. He was a master of his own will and of his subjects, no one else. If it meant rolling onto his back everyonce and a while to sustain his wellbeing through the winter, so be it.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Giana - November 29, 2016

God just skip me if Im taking too long xD

Giana met the eyes of her leader only momentarily before her gaze flicked back to Bastian. She still didn't like him, but lets be honest and ask ourselves one thing: does Giana really like anybody past herself, her kids, and Eshamun? Perhaps it was the odd sack at his paws, concealing god knows what, and maybe it was the accent that so contrasted with her own Italian one, but either way Gia was thrilled to be reminded that he would be below them -- forever. No man would ever rule Giana Angelo again, and a sly smile overtook her ivory face.

It faded quickly as words began to exchange: she wouldn't be allowing this man anywhere near her own children, not at least for many months after their birth. Hell, if she had it totally her way, not a soul but Hadraniel and Eshamun would see them in their first moons. Even if the man had knowledge of children, Giana had no intentions of trusting her kids' lives on it. Fuck that.

Eshamun wasn't shy in bringing up the fact that he was, indeed, a servant, there to give children and take care of the womens' every need. A lovely life for someone like Giana. The Baakar stayed silent this time, listening and deigning to simply be here in protection of her family.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Asherah - December 03, 2016

Asherah sat and watched the scene take place. She had no more to add and no need to interfer with Eshamun's process. She noted that Bastian didn't seem to mind the differences in this pack compared to others, though she wondered how well he would adjust. A male was used to being in charge, and this was not the place for such a mindset. All the women within, as well as Ar-Khalba, would set him straight.

She spoke not, merely looked between her leader and the man, sparing an occasional glance to Giana as well.

last post from me!

she listened to him speak, but eshamun had already decided her mind. he was a hale beast with a knowledge of herbs that could perhaps be of use to them in the months to come. "i shall accept you as our second katimir. ar-khalba is the only other man that resides here."
a wry smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. "bastian. doktor," she amended, turning the word on her tongue. it was heavy and unfamiliar, but eshamun decided she would come to like it all the same. "there is a sweetness to your rank, all the same. you may be chosen to father children, or for pleasure, as we decide." here she fixed him with a cool green glance, one that burned teasingly for a moment. "perhaps even i shall choose you."
the moment passed; eshamun lifted her chin. "welcome to the malkaria. perhaps you could persuade giana or asherah to show you into the territory's heart." with that, the ekar-aji gave the three wolves a gentle smile, then turned to move away at a slow clip.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Bastian - December 05, 2016

He was not the only male, a comforting thought, given the females' unendingly lusty looks. He had no interest in any of them, and no interest in children past...experimentation. He smirked bashfully at her offer nonetheless; if he had the ability to blush, perhaps he might be doing so now. I am honored, The poor, singular male before him must be boned dry by now, seeing how round the other females were.

If you do not mind, Fräulein Asherah, I would like to be askink Fräulein Giana for a tour. It vould be nice to get to know my new packmate, He turned to Giana, smiling with an incline of his head, wondering how she would respond.

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Giana - December 06, 2016

Giana's ears fanned back at Eshamun's teasing words, but kept her eyes on the new Katimir -- she didn't hide nor display her affection for Eshamun, and she'd never tell a soul of the sting to her heart in that moment -- through their banter. The leaders suggestion brought on a sour face, and she was just about to ask Asherah to handle it when the German requested it of her. Her nose wrinkled in confusion an distaste for a second, but eventually it smoothed with a soft, resigned sigh and a shrug of her sharp shoulders.

                          "Bene. Follow me, Signor."

She didn't reach out to nuzzle the Ekar-Aji as she usually did, hurt as she was by her own pride and possessive nature -- instead, she jerked her muzzle roughly in the direction of the shine. It was as good a place to start as any, she supposed.

If you'd like to continue with just the two of them, we can do another thread or keep going, or just end it here :3

RE: Can you feel the Schadenfreude? - Asherah - December 13, 2016

Asherah watched with interest, having never seen another accepted directly in front of her. When Eshamun welcomed Bastian, her tail waved behind her and she smiled. She lift her head proudly as Eshamun spoke more of their ways and her mouth too split into a suggestive grin at Eshamun's words. She glanced to Bastian to see if he seemed flattered, as he well should be. Eshamun was leader and beautiful. Her implied interest should be seen as an honor.

She left the offer of a tour floating in the air, and Asherah wondered how far she could walk. If given the task, she would need rest. Her belly was full and she grew tired easily now. It was unbefitting for their lovely land to be treated with a less than fitting tour. Yet Bastian spoke, and cleared her concerns away. The woman looked to Giana, wondering if she would accept.

She noticed nothing about Giana's feelings towards Eshamun's flirting, but saw the acceptance towards Bastian's request. She smiled softly to her sister and gave her a small nuzzle. Her voice reached to the other quietly, where Bastian could not hear. "If you have need of me, just call. I will come as quickly as possible."

Message given, she faced Bastian again and dipped her head. "Welcome Bastian, to our home. I'm glad that you came to join us. I hope we will talk soon." With that she turned to leave, giving Giana one last farewell.

Last for me
