Knock your stress out! - RIP Krypton - January 24, 2017

ooc: for the lovely @Grayday To decide who wins, do we want to do a dice roll out o 10 and whoever has the highest number wins?

it seemed he was experiencing a lot of stress or was at east... angry at someone or something. she couldn't quite put her paw on it, but she knew something was up. although she wanted to avoid drama, krypton knew it was her duty to help out her pack mates. she thought perhaps he would like to take a stroll to decompose a bit, she had a feeling something else might take place. she thought perhaps he would like to participate in a spar, physical activity where both can release some tension and can easily become healed up.

with the thought in mind, she headed off to find Day and hit him up for a practice round, she could use the exercise anyways.

Sure! I got an 8. Tagging for reference.
Something was going to have to give. He couldn't deal with these dreams anymore, but neither could he keep handing his children over to the others all night just so he could pace and growl in the dark. It was morning, now, and he knew he had to go and get his little terrors from @Mara Susi before they started causing her too much trouble. Sunny was bound to miss him before long, and Dawn... well, he was sure she'd miss him eventually, too.

But he couldn't bring himself to drag his paws in that direction. He didn't want to see anyone, but if he had to, Krypton was a good choice. Day watched as she came toward him, wondering what she could want. Probably to tell him that the kids were asking for him, or that they were running off and misbehaving again.

"Hey," he said when the shewolf drew near.

ooc: rolled a 10 here :o

She offered him a tail wag and gentle smile as he greeted her. "Hey to you too" she said. Although Krypton would love to be evasive and clever about what to do, she really wasn't the best thinker of those things. She preferred to just go in for the kill and stop beating around the bush. She let out a breath before looking towards him, asking him a simple question. "Wanna spar?" she asked with her head tilted. before he could question, she backed up her question with some info. "You seem really stressed and look like you just need to vent it out. I don't think taking a long stroll would be very effective," she joked lightly, stretching out her legs a bit. "Up for it, Day?"

RE: Knock your stress out! - Grayday Sr. - January 24, 2017

Day's ears flickered in surprise as the words fell - abrupt and unfamiliar - from her mouth. Spar? He wanted to say no already. It didn't seem right to let his aggression out around his packmates, especially not his female packmates. Da had taught him better than that, hadn't he?

But he was tired of walking in circles, thinking about Adeline and Amber and how angry he was at, well, everything.

"Yeah," he said. "That sounds good."

He started forward but stopped before he reached her, uncertainty flickering in his eyes and wavering in his stance. It went against all his instincts to fight Krypton, even if this wasn't really a fight. He could still remember hot blood spilling over his tongue, and the give of flesh and bone under the pressure of his jaws. It'd been easy, and he worried that she would be, too.

But she was Krypton, and Day knew he could never hurt her - not like that. So with a growl - short and gruff - he sprang toward her, aiming his shoulder into her side and reaching with his jaws for the scruff of her neck.

He seemed hesitant at first, but krypton just gave him a smile. A spar never hurt anyone, she could always heal them up anyways. Also, it's not like it was a complete battle, just for practice.

it didn't take long for him to agree, he sprang at her with such speed she nearly fell into his grasp. His body rammed into her shoulders, making her duck a bit, barely able to avoid his teeth on her neck. She felt his teeth brush against her though with some fur being scraped against and even ripped off. While she did this, she looked for any weak area to grab onto. This is where she got creative. She went for his lower neck and chest area, adding her weight in trying to get him off of her, as if she was trying to push him over. Should she succeed in adding enough pressure from his center of balance, he would fall like a tower. But in this move, she left her scruff open again, a mistake she couldn't take back. She growled during this, feeling adrenaline pump through her body.

His ears flickered and then flattened as she twisted away - not out of anger, but of a desire to protect them from Krypton's teeth. She didn't stumble like he'd meant her to, but Day didn't let that phase him. He reached for her haunch and tugged at the fur there, not wanting to hurt her, but not really sure how else to bring her down.

A huff of laughter escaped him as her teeth found purchase on one of his ears. "Hey!" he protested, rearing back to escape her, and then bearing down on her from above when the idea came to him. It wasn't the best angle, but he manage to crash down against her with a good amount of force.

he first tugged at her haunches, making her turn her neck to snap at his face, trying to bring attention away from her rump. She also managed to move her bottom half around to avoid the contact. after she had grabbed his ear, he reared up as a horse would, tearing his ear away from her grip. the woman was surprised but felt her own laughter emit from her lips. this was quite enjoyable for her, especially since it was just practice after all. when he came down, she felt his weight crush against her as she was nearly pushed on her back. twisting and turning like a serpent, she landed on her shoulder, but when she landed, she made sure she wasn't going down completely.

with her jaws wide open as she crashed, she lunged for his neck once again. Should she succeed, she would drag gray down with her and hopefully, be able to pin him down.

Day realized his mistake quickly enough. A tired groan fell from his maw as Krypton's jaws snapped around his throat, but he was laughing to hard to do anything about it. It was the breathless, debilitating sort of laugh that always left his muscles feeling weak. Day knew when he was beat.

"Okay, you win," he wheezed, letting his body go limp. He watched her out of the corner of his eye, tail wagging absently in the fun of the moment.

the two were breathless after the spar, both couldn't stop laughing. Haha, she had done it! the man fell to her paws after she had her grip, making her smile widely towards him. she released his neck gently before settling down near him. her tail thumped against the ground happily, her breaths quick and short, but her expression nonetheless joyful and happy.

"You're quite the mercenary," she complimented him, partly wheezing from laughing. God, when was the last time she laughed like this? Days, weeks, months? She didn't know but didn't really focus on the timeline, she was just happy as can be. She hadn't sparred in quite some time, thus making this spar even more enjoyable. "Not to mention, you're smiling, my idea has succeeded!" she claimed with another huff of laughter. "You feel better, at least, a little bit?" she asked Day, turning her head to look towards him with her murky green and yellow eyes.

It was nice to laugh like this again. He nodded helplessly along with Krypton's words, breath still hitching as he fought back against this sudden attack of levity. It wasn't that he didn't want it, just that he couldn't thank her enough, especially when his lungs didn't want to supply air to any efforts that didn't involve laughter. Eventually, he gave himself over to it, guffaws dying down into chuckles as he finally began to regain control of his body.

You're beautiful.

The thought came to him unbidden, and in his witless state, he almost said it out loud. She'd been just as breathless as he, and it occured to Day that he hadn't seen her look happy since before, back at Silvertip. She'd seemed so out of his reach, then. Impossibly far. Now their situations were reversed, and they were laughing together, and Day remembered when he'd avoided her because those were the only word that would've come out of his mouth, if he'd tried to talk to her - you're beautiful.

Another chuckle was teased out of him, at this. Part of him began to wonder what life would be like if he'd taken that chance. If she'd responded. Krypton was already a sort of mother to his children, but now Day tried to imagine what life would be like if she'd been the one to birth them. Better? he wondered.

But Adeline, always waiting in the wings, returned to the forefront of his mind, and Day realized that things would only be more complicated. That it would always be complicated, if he ever tried to find love again.

"I do feel better - much better," he sighed, lying back in the snow. "It feels good to laugh again, even if it's at the expense of my pride." Childishly, he kicked some snow in her direction, hoping to restart the fight. He wasn't sure he was up for another spar, but some rough-housing in the snow sounded fun right about then.

his tired response made her smile crookedly towards him, happy to know the dad was feeling better after relieving him of his stress, at least, partially. winning and losing a spar was no matter to the woman, it was about the fight itself, whether or not the moves the opponent picked were correct or if their timing was on or off. although she was still a pacifist, krypton knew that fighting is what kept others protected, therefore, she would fight to protect, it was her job.

she took notice to the snow flung her way, making her eye him with a mischievous smile before kicking some back at him with her muzzle. though she was tired, it had been forever since she played and roughhoused. it reminded her of her youth times. the woman rose to her feet, preparing for day's playful move.

His tail swept the snow as he eyed her, his tactics changing as she stood and took the high ground. It would probably have been smart to do the same, yet Day stayed on the ground, pondering. After a moment, he gave a low, challenging growl, daring her to do something as he rolled toward her in a flip-flop motion, intending to knock into her legs and take them out from under her. From there, more snow would be finding its way onto her pelt. Somehow.
