chrome sparks - Bones - May 01, 2014

Bones reached the plateau by midday, relieved that she hadn't squandered yet another opportunity to visit her father's home. She trotted around the lower edges of the great bluff, then stopped well beyond the foot of the plateau, facing it. She pondered howling but before she could get around to it, a wasp suddenly drifted by her snout. The two engaged in battle, the end result being a swollen, throbbing nose and a crushed insect strewn on the grass.

Eyes watering at the pain in her schnoz, young Bones sent up a quick bark to announce her presence, then sat down and pawed at her aching nose. She wondered if a Healer lived at the plateau and if she could possibly borrow his/her time. Surely there must be some remedy to alleviate the pain and inflammation, perhaps an ointment or something...

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 01, 2014

Blue Willow heard a sharp bark with underlying hints of pain and being the wolf that she was she ran towards it. She made sure to let her new rank be shown, though truth be told she was still incredibly shy and nervous about having such a high rank, but she would persevere. She approached the youngling sitting at her pack's bordes with her tail held high and her gaze staunchly on her. Poor thing had a bee sting.

She approached her and stood there for a moment and spoke quietly "Hello I am Blue Willow Beta and Healer of the pack and I wonder what is it that you want here at our borders? And mud will heal that take the sting out of it. She looked at the young thing in front of her she did not know her, and she did not know she was of Atticus's flesh and blood, the handsome black male, but she did know she needed to determine what the girl was doing there and she also needed to heal her poor nose the poor dear.

When a black wolf appeared, Bones's heart jumped, only to sink a little when she realized it wasn't her father. As the decidedly female wolf approached, Bones bowed her head. The rush of blood toward the tip of her nose made it throb harder, yet she did her best to ignore it.

"Oh, really?" She looked around herself as if searching for mud, realizing there was none at hand. "Excuse me, I'll be right back," she said, jumping up and trotting toward a bend in the nearby river, where she dipped her nose into the cool water first, then rubbed it in some of the sediment on the riverbank.

Returning with a muddy nose, Bones smiled and said, "Thanks for the tip. It's helping." She then took a breath and added, "I'm here to see me dad, Atticus, if he's available. Do you know if he is?"

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 01, 2014

Blue Willow sat down as the youth ran off to put some mud on her nose. She hadn't told Blue her name and Blue Was curious but she would deign from asking for now. As she sat waiting gently for the young one with the strange accent ot come back her mind wandered.

She blinked twice when she did come back and asked for her father Atticus. She didn't even realize he had children. She tilted her head and said quietly "I do not know if he is. He doesn't stray far from his nieces and nephews these days. I can howl for him if you like? I'm sorry whta did you say your name was?

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 01, 2014

The mention of Atticus's name seemed to surprise the she-wolf and Bones wondered about it before the questions stole her attention. "Oh, sorry, me name's Bones," she replied with a sheepish grin. "Nice to meet you, Blue Willow," she added, giving a bit of a dramatic but nonetheless genuine dip of her slathered snout.

Naturally, the mention of nephews and nieces piqued her interest. Bones's eyes brightened and, for a moment, she forgot that she was here to see her dad. "So, uh, Uncle Peregrine's kids were born?" It felt weird to call him that, particularly since they'd never met, but he was her uncle, by blood and everything! "How many? What are their names? What are they like? How old are they?"

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 01, 2014

Blue Willow smiled at her and said quietly Well Met Bones. She did not mind that the youth forgot to tell her name. The fancies of youth were quick to flit away so she knew the girl probably had other things on her mind.

Blue Willow smiled and began to speak, "you're uncle Peregrine only had 2 children 2 little girls but a pack mate of ours died in childbirth and him and Hawkeye his mate would be your aunt by mate adopted her two as well and they were a boy and a girl. There is Osprey Jr, she is one of Peregrine's girls she is all black but she has white armpits, and his other daughter is Tytonidae but we call her Ty she is also blackish though I suppose she is lighter than that. Blue Willow was trying to recall their exact coloring but it was hard to describe it she hoped she was doing an adequate job. She continued And the two they adopted are a little girl named Saena who is white with some markings or rust red on her little body and a little boy named Pura he is blue-gray in coloring. They are all very playful though Saena is very shy and they all are just a few weeks old. She smiled again happy to share the knowledge she had of pups they were always a pleasure.

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 01, 2014

Blue Willow didn't seem to mind all of Bones's questions. She launched into a description of each of the pups. Though the mention of the she-wolf who'd died in childbirth made her heart fall, she quickly forgot about it as the Healer described the pups (her cousins!) in detail. She pictured each of them. Bones could hardly wait to meet them.

"Ohh, I'd love to meet them!" she said when Blue Willow finished. "Do you mind calling for me dad? Maybe he can take me to visit them! I've never met my Uncle Peregrine either... but I'd like to!" she added hastily, her rump wiggling as her tail wagged forcefully.

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 01, 2014

@Atticus
It hurt Blue every time she thought of Pied and it did not help that she blamed herself. If she had just stayed near Pied's den like she had wanted too. She had decided against it at the last minute and it was a decision that would haunt her for years to come.

blue willow shook her head "No I don't mind at all. She lifted her blue gray nose to the sky and howled out for the father of the teenage girl asking him to come and see them. I'm sure you're uncle Perry will be excited to meet you too. She smiled at the young girl.

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 01, 2014

I vote we keep posting until @Atticus (tagging 'cause it looks like yours didn't work) shows up... and if he doesn't ('cause I know the Houks is really busy and may understandably want to pass on this'un), Blue Willow can just take her to see Atti, Perry and the pups 'behind the scenes'? :)

The Healer issued the call and Bones's heart beat excitedly when she pictured her father's face. She hoped he was within earshot and that he'd come down to meet her, then take her back to his brother's den to meet the puppies. Bones loved kids, even though she was only a kid herself!

"So," Bones said, naturally making conversation while they waited, "you're not related to me dad, are you?" Atticus hadn't mentioned a Blue Willow in the family tree (do you see what I did there) but perhaps she was a distant relative or maybe part of the family by marriage.

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 01, 2014

works forf me

Blue saw the eager expression on the girls face and hoped for her sake he'd be nearby to come see his daughter. what was it with this family and having illegitimate pups besides Peregrine.

Blue willow chuckled no I'm not related to Atticus this assure you. I find him as a friend. Blue willow did not even know if she could call him a friend they had hardly one conversation though it was a kind conversation. (I did see that are u trying for blue/atti love? lol)

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 02, 2014

Blue Willow called herself a friend of Atticus, which made her a friend of Bones (in the youth's mind, anyway). "Oh, for some reason, I thought it was a small family pack," she remarked with a sway of her feathery gray tail. "How many wolves live here? And what are they all like?" Although Bones was almost positive she would not consider a transplant to the plateau after all, she could not help but be curious about the place her father called home.

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 02, 2014

Blue frowned in contemplation as she was thinking hard about all the members. She supposed this was her first true test as beta in a way. To see if she knew her pack well enough to help the leaders. Well Bones, it is a small family pack, but there are a couple of us that are not related. She began to unravel the names in her head of all who lived there and she began to speak. "Well there's the alpha's Hawkeye and Peregrine your aunt and uncle. Hawkeye would be your aunt through marriage. Their 2 pups Osprey Junior and Tytonidae. Then you have Kisu who is related to peregrine by marriage cause of his mate Pied she was the female who passed away bless her soul. She was your father and uncles niece so your cousin. She spoke the last part purely out of habit. They had two pups Saena and Pura so they are your cousins as are Junior and Ty. She wrinkled her nose as she thought about more, tilting her head. "Then you have your father Atticus of course and they have a sister Osprey she's your aunt. There is also a female named Sabriyah that is not related to anyone, and myself who is also not related to anyone and there was a youth named Kraken, but I don't know if he's still around or not. That about sums it up. Any questions? Blue Willow was proud of herself for remembering everyone and who they were related too.

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 02, 2014

Blue Willow launched into another long description, this time naming and detailing each member of the pack. Bones listed raptly, blinking slowly when she learned that it was her own relative that had passed away. She didn't linger long on this thought, however, as another name the Beta mentioned caused young Bones's heart to jump into her throat. Her green eyes widened and she felt a scream of joy climbing toward her mouth.

"KRAKEN'S HERE?!" It came out of her forcefully. A few wordless noises of surprise and delight fell out of her mouth too. "What's he look like? How old is he?" Bones veritably screamed. "Me long lost brother's name is Kraken!" she added to explain her over-the-top enthusiasm.

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 02, 2014

Blue Willow flinched and laid her ears back on her head at the raucous cry of the wayward youth in front of her. She shook her head as Bones became quieter but her ears still hurt slightly. Blue Willow frowned softly and spoke even softer. "I'm sorry Bones I have yet to meet him, I just know he was here. I believe he is black with blue eyes, but my dear I am afraid that is all I know.

Blue Willow didn't know of this son of Atticus because surely if Bones was his daughter then Kraken was his son. She had never seen him just heard of him in passing and she frowned again as she tried to draw details to her minds eye.

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 02, 2014

The Healer seemed taken aback by Bones's loud mouth, yet the youth couldn't help herself. "That's him, that's him!" she cried. "I can't believe he's here!" Then two realities occurred to her, one after the other: firstly, did Atticus and Kraken know each other? And, secondly, Blue Willow kept implying that she wasn't sure Kraken was still here.

"He has to be here!" she said, her voice lowered to only a half-shout now. "He disappeared from Tortuga when we were younger. Maybe he found his way to our dad, just like me." She paused, wishing desperately that Atticus would answer the Beta female's call and thought aloud, "Can we try calling for Kraken too?"

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 02, 2014

Blue Willow saw the hope on the youth's face and she nodded her head "Yes dear we can try calling for @Kraken too. With that the Beta healer lifted her muzzle to the sky and sang out loud and clear for Kraken to come and join them if he was out and about. She hoped Atticus would come too, she wanted to please Miss Bones, she was a sweet child.

Blue Willow thinking of how to distract the girl from to much disappoint me asked her about her home. "What is Tortuga?

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 06, 2014

I just wanted to note this somewhere. I'm not sure Houkie or Emalee have time for this thread but I'm going to assume she sees both Atticus and Kraken on this visit anyway. So that cat's outta the bag, for anyone who's following... lol.

The Healer obliged her by calling her brother's name, which made the fur along Bones's fur prickle excitedly. She couldn't wait to see Kraken again and catch up with him... though she fully intended to box him about the ears for leaving her alone with their mother, whether or not he'd meant to do it.

"It's a place, down the coast," Bones replied very vaguely and distractedly, as she was having difficulty keeping her excitement in check. Her father and her brother lived here! "It's where Kraken and me come from. It's a pirate pack," she added, hopping from foot to foot.

RE: chrome sparks - Blue Willow - May 06, 2014

Blue saw the girl's excitement but chose not to comment on it yet. She chuckled so you pillage and plunder and all of the above? She tried to keep the young girls attention but clearly she could not so instead she changed the subject and spoke softly.

"How about i give you an escort and we just go find your brother and father and uncles? I am sure they will not mind as long as I keep you on the outskirts. She smiled at her gently wanting to appease her, and she was family though from another pack. So she would need an escort into the forays of their pack.

RE: chrome sparks - Bones - May 06, 2014

I guess that's a wrap! :)

"Yes... I mean, no, I don't!" Bones said, tripping over her own tongue even as her mind was pulled in several different directions. "Sorry, I—" she began to say when the Healer proposed they just give up on waiting and go find Atticus and Kraken themselves. "Aye!" she agreed enthusiastically.

With Blue Willow leading the way, they entered the plateau's territory, climbing up the great rock shelf. Although it took a bit of time and effort, they managed to locate both Atticus and Bones's long lost brother. She even got to drop by the Alpha pair's den site and meet her aunt, uncle (and Kisu) and her little cousins. For young Bones, the day far exceeded even her greatest expectations.
