RE: Shades of blue - Sophy - May 16, 2017

Sophy felt her face warm up under her fur as the quiet wolf made a sound that resembled giggling. He jumped off the rock, and she watched him closely as he began making marks in the ground. At first they confused her, as some things he had done already had. Her gaze shifted down to see a line, and another half the length. It took time, but she understood. "One...and a half?" she asked, tilting her head back up so her eyes were on him again.

Calloon carried a happy child within every move he made - into every sound that came out of his mouth. He was anything but a true man, but luckily his age reflected that. He had been traumatized at such a young age that he feared he might never learn to cope with future punches life would throw at him. Still, he was a strong believer in that whatever did not kill him made him stronger, and that would prove itself true when Steady was sent to his next life. Calloon grinned so wide that his golden-ringed eyes closed, nodding at her. He nudged the air around her as he swore he had done to more people, wanting to return the question. On her looks alone did he guess she was around the same age, but he could've been wrong.

Sophy giggled a little at how happy he seemed to be that she got her guess right with his age. Then the quiet wolf pointed his nose toward the air near her, and she managed to understand this time what the wolf meant. She was older than the age he gave her, and now knowing his age it made her more comfortable around him.

"About two and half years, actually. Might be just under" she said, smiling happily. "I'm the smallest of my sisters, but we are all from the same litter." And born around the same time so they were about the same age as each other.

2 and a half... sooner or later he would reach that age too, but then she'd be ahead of him again. It was a race he couldn't win, for time was unbeatable with the tools he now possessed. Their age-gap wasn't the worst though, and he could cope with her being more mature. He went and scratched her age in lines on the ground too, comparing them with squinted eyes. Around what age would his siblings be now? Had they even survived the war and the loss of their ghostly, child-like spirit?

He went to a new patch of sand, pressing his paw on the ground 7 times in a horizontal line. Of course, he had two more siblings, but he didn't know about them. The fourth one in line he pressed his paw on again, trying to make clear that that was him. He was one of seven, 3 younger than him and 3 older.

RE: Shades of blue - Sophy - May 24, 2017

Sophy watched as he bega scratching again in the sand. At first, it was him scratching her age next to his, as if comapring. Then he muted wolf moved over to another cleared area of sand, and he began scratching again, or rather pressing into it with his paw. She counted seven presses in a line, one of them pressed on twice. This she did not understand right away, and shot him a confused look with the tilt of her head. "I don't...Seven paws? Seven..." What could have it been seven of?

RE: Shades of blue - Calloon - May 27, 2017

It wasn't strange that his friend did not understand his vague and abstract way of telling about his family - he was a strange magnet, after all. He smiled bashfully, pointing with one paw from the one he had pressed twice to his own chest awkwardly. He then waved it over the other paws and then went on to wave around confusedly. He didn't know what had happened to his siblings after all.

RE: Shades of blue - Sophy - May 27, 2017

Sophy immediately understood the double-pawed print. She formed an 'o' with her mouth. "So that's you. Then that must mean...you had six siblings?!" She had two sisters, she could never imagine having six. "That's a-" She stopped when he began waving around confusingly. This she understood in the process. "Wait...you...don't know?" She immediately felt sad that he did not know where any of them were. "Do you...do you want a hug?" She thought hugs made everyone better, and she also thought he must have been sad.

Then she had an idea that got her jumpy. "I can be your sister!" She wanted to be everyone's sister, in all honesty. She was just too shy to admit it. "Can I? You can my sisters as yours too! Then you'll have siblings again!"

RE: Shades of blue - Calloon - May 28, 2017

The ghost had never found it weird that he had so many siblings; they had been needed for the continuation of their bloodline since the war had been a threat to their whole existence. That his mother had spawned even two more babes to nurse was unknown to him, but if he had known he would've probably returned home to see them one day. Family was important to him, even though they were used as soldier more than anything. He nodded at Sophy, confirming her suspicions with a bashful smile. Her second question got a sad shake of his sunken skull though, for he was not a creature that lied.

When she offered a hug, the nimble Mono simply couldn't refuse her for longer. Even though they had just met, she felt like a friend that he had known for years now. He leaned into her if she would let him, placing a soft nudge on her shoulder. It was a ghostly hug, for his bony frame was not really huggable, but it was a hug nonetheless. Just as he had relaxed, Sophy found a way to excite him again. A sister? Would he have a sister again?!

As a pup would, he jumped up and bowed down in a playful bow a few times before his light grey flag of a tail started swaying behind him. He nodded excitedly, golden-ringed eyes seemingly gleaming with happiness.

Want to finish this up with a fade?

Sophy was excited just by seeing how excited the muted wolf had become. Her tail wagged in the hug, then wagged some more at his reaction to her proposal. If only she knew his true name, but that skipped right by her mind at the moment. She went into a play bow of her own. Quickly, she darted forward to bump her nose to his shoulder, then she quickly turned, looking back as if to entice him to give chase in this game of tag she had started.

Yes! Thanks for the thread! Feel free to archive or post again and do it :)) (sorry for shortness omg)

He laughed, a weird, strained sound that was filled with both torment of his soul and the happiness of the moment. She seemingly decided it was time for them to cheer up, and so they did; he chased after her, switching up the roles every now and then.
