these scars on scars are telling me i'm still alive - Addie - May 07, 2017

The days are more consistently warmer but occasionally the wind will sweep through with a chill. This morning had started off a little cooler than usual and she’d have liked to stay asleep a little longer but there is no one there to keep her company, no one to share the warmth, so she suffers through the rest of the day until it warms up that the thoughts are not gone. It is harder each day to keep moving and the amount of walking decreases as she eventually begins to meanders from one point to another. The little forest she’d been in for a little while has become a blur and she focuses little on the finer details surrounding her. There’s plenty of learning opportunity if she had someone around to help but her eyes only glaze over as she passes by.

Her nose drops to the ground idly as she approaches a patch of flowers, looking them over but they are not familiar to her. The name doesn’t even tease her because she’s never seen such yellow fellows before. They are pretty but not knowing anything about them she moves past them, picking a new direction at random to continue her journey.

The inky man stirred from his slumber, the loud growls of his stomach waking him in the middle of a dream. Cerberus stood lazily, wobbling slightly as he blinked a few times to fully wake himself up. It was early morning, too early. He had hoped to sleep in till at least noon when it was warmer, but it appeared his stomach had other plans. Another growl rumbled from within and the young man leaned forward to stretch out his stiff legs before heading off in search of some breakfast. He didn't expect to catch anything fulfilling, but perhaps some berries would suffice his hunger.

It took him a few minutes before he stumbled upon the patch of flowers, their beauty something he greatly admired. He bent down to sniff one but quickly pulled away when he let out a loud sneeze. It was due to this that he managed to catch the green eyed fae in the distance, and Cerberus wondered if anyone else was out and about in the area. However instead of approaching like he usually did, the inky male stayed planted in his spot and waited to see if the girl would acknowledge or ignore him.

The sneeze causes her to jerk and then stiffen, ears back against her skull as she slowly turns to look in the direction it came from. She doesn’t know what to expect when she finds a dark pelt and bright, sun-yellow eyes staring back at her. Adeline swallows a nervous lump in her throat but she eases her posture to turn away from her idle walking to the other across the way. Looking at him only makes her feel even more lost than she had before but she steels herself anyway offers him a chuff.

Uncertain what to do once she continues to hold his attention, she glances to the ground to see a large, thick stick on the ground. Carefully, she lowers her head to pick it up and then close the distance and drops it in front of him.
