something magic - Larus - May 28, 2017

He'd been led through the heart of the territory and Charon had pointed out key features, to-the-point as he had been through the conversation prior. The newcomer was introduced to the many paths of the mountain and he climbed easily enough, finding that his body was well-adapted after so many days of exploration in the surrounding areas. When it finally came time for Tryphon to meet the children (and the mother of the children) he had but a glimpse, and then was told to come back another time - they were all asleep, you see - so he accepted the order and departed.

This left him with a few hours to kill. He wanted to sleep too, but had become a little bit too amped up from the unfolding events to do just that; and so Tryphon began to investigate the great mountain on his own, tracing the paths, finding the dens where others slept or the scents of his new pack-family and committing them to memory. Those hours passed by smoothly - although Tryphon did not encounter many bodies, likely because they were all busy. He ducked beneath the boughs of some massive arbutus trees, slunk through the dark of surrounding pines, and decided to rest in the shade for a little bit.

This would be different - he'd decided that when he'd been accepted. He would try here. He would make a home here, and things would fall in to place. Tryphon had all the life experience of a veteran explorer and he could only hope that it was enough to keep him in the good graces of the alphas here; if they learned that he didn't know anything about kids - hadn't been around kids since maybe the days with Caiaphas - they might just chase him out. He wouldn't let that happen - he couldn't. But for now the boy rested, stretching out on his belly through the gray shadows, and enjoyed the down-time.

RE: something magic - Terance - June 04, 2017

terance wandered the territory with few items checked off his to-do list. that being said, his motivation had dropped below sea-level earlier in the day. the stone was about as useful as olive and dakarai's pups, doing more meandering than anything else. while he did manage to snag a rabbit, he'd chowed down on that bad boy almost immediately, which only made him more lackadaisical... oh well, a day off never hurt anyone, terance decided.

eventually, terance's paws brought him to a stranger-- one who had a cool face mask. despite that, terance thought the dude looked sort of familiar, though looking back through his short year of living terance couldn't pick a memory to put this face together with-- whatever. terance was pretty sure hydra had mentioned something about a new guy, but he didn't remember his name or anything like that... whoops. either way, he was all sprawled out in what looked like a pretty serious cat-nap, but terance didn't mind disturbing it for the sake of introduction. so, the stone let out a light chuff and tilted his head, studying the newcomers reaction.

He had not been settled for long before a noise caught in his ears, and they twisted as if to catch it; then he lazily lifted his head, and in doing so caught sight of the silhouette among the trees. Tryphon drew his limbs towards himself as a snail might recoil in to its shell, but did not rise.

Hello, he called out to the stranger - a youngster by the looks of it - and beckoned with a wave of his nose for them to come closer. Did you... need something?

he stirred, and then replied, and terance was pleased. his tail waved a little bit, lower at his hocks in a more relaxed posture, but hid head remained half-tilted, still curious. "i'm terance," he said, a bland and straight-to-the-point introduction, "redleaf-disarrino." that was all he wanted, a proper introduction. if he was gonna have any sort of place in this pack, others needed to know who he was-- both old and new. in case that wasn't made clear, terance shook his head, letting it go back upright. "just wanted to meet the new guy," he elaborated. he would have offered him a snack, but unfortunately terance had just downed his last meal... oh well, maybe he'd been keen on conversing anyway.

Oh, he mused, surprised that anyone would want to interact with him at all - but he was the new guy. It wasn't a role he often played, so Tryphon would have to try and make a good impression. Except that the boy introduced himself in such a hasty manner, his name sprawling off his tongue, that Tryphon couldn't make heads or tails of it; were all the wolves upon the mountain from the same family? What was a Redleafdisarinno? Furthermore, did Tryphon... have a name like that? Was he a Redleafdisarinno by proxy after joining the mountain wolves? Too many questions. He put a smile on his face and responded as jovially as he could, I'm definitely the new guy - Tryphon.
