Un jour viendra - Dalia - June 30, 2017

Dalia sat quietly where she was, on the outside of the community den where the sun warmed her fur, though it was barely rising. She was an early bird to say the least, she enjoyed sleeping, but something within her stirred with curiosity. And with this curiosity, the little girl gently lifted herself from her mother and brother before heading out towards the cave entrance. She wanted to see something new, something that caught her attention. Perhaps, this was a new friend, or maybe, just something even more amazing.

What caught her eyes were the plants and bugs and everything she could possibly take in. Her shoudlers were hunched as she leaned down to gently brush her nose against a leafy plant, feeling the dew splatter onto her nose, making Dalia withdraw to give an adorable little sneeze. She then got up as quieltly as a puppy could to inspect this plant further before relaizing something even prettier was on top of the plant. It was a flower that had long, yet very soft white petals. It was a glacier lily, something that caught the cherub's attention. Dalia liked the brightly colored ones too, but this white flower, something about was magnetic to her.

Gently, as if one wrong touch would shatter it, Dalia booped her nose into the center of the flower and breathed in gently, almost amazed by the sweet smell the flower had.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - June 30, 2017

Artaax was settled low against the ground near the mouth of the den, watching the quiet world just outside with narrowed, gleaming eyes. He was in the mood for hunting (as usual), but had found his siblings less than interested in endulging his games so soon after being fed. This didn't usually bother him as he was often perfectly content playing on his own. But today he wanted a playmate, and so his heart trilled with excitement when he spotted one of the other pups slip away into the foliage.

The boy was silent and still for a little while, content to watch her meander as she hadn't gone far enough so as to disappear from his view. When eventually she did, Artaax was quick to follow after her, slinking along like a mountain cat in her wake. He kept enough distance so as not to bring attention to himself (at least, that was what he had intended), all the while considering how he might corner her for the attack. She was plenty distracted enough that he could probably pull off a fairly direct attack, but he didn't feel quite ready to make his move. Artaax was a fierce predator, but also a patient one. He would wait for the perfect moment to ensure his grand victory.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - July 02, 2017

dalia was unaware she was being hunted by a ferocious beast. all she could really focus on was the lovely flower that gave her some beautiful company. the little girl couldn't help but continue to gently sniff the flower's sweet scent, taking in every part she could and comitting it to memory. a little bit of her told her to take the flower back to mama, but another part told her to leave it where she found it. dalia didn't understand the concept of death, only playing, eating, and sleeping. everything else was practically brand new.

standing up, she waddled around the flower a little bit, making small circles with dainty little steps from her pudgy legs. dalia would go to the left a few times, then turn around and go to the right. and every completed circle she did, she sniffed the little flower. it was a strange looking action, one would think it was some kind of ritual. but instead, it was just a puppy being a puppy, a silly little thing. finally, she plopped down again, sticking her nose farther into the plant until her face was nearly inside the thing entirely. what a strange child portia was raising...

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - July 03, 2017

Artaax's bi-colored eyes gleamed with excitement and mischief as Dalia continued along, clearly unaware of his presence. Not a single muscle moved as he watched her tiptoe through the tulips flowers. Each second that passed began to feel more and more like the right moment, but he held back until he watched her stop and stick her nose right into one of the colorful blooms.

The aspiring hunter moved quickly and silently towards her, not breaking into a run until he was only a few yards away. He quickly came within reach of her, but instead of pouncing, he planted his paws into the ground and reached out with open jaws to try and land a playful chomp to her rear end - his signature move, or so I've just now decided.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - July 05, 2017

She still lacked the ability to take her focus off of the beautiful flower in front of her. The little girl would be born a naturalist, the dreamer of teh pack with an imagination where the sky was the limit. With her face still stcuk in the plant, Dalia kept smelling the sweet scent over and over again until she felt something off. Whether it was because she heard something behind her, or perhaps it was just the feeling that someone was weatching her.

Dalia was about to pull her head out of the flower until she felt something on her rump, something sharp enough to make her yelp in surprise. The little girl looked like she got electrocuted, she jumped straight up in the air, limbs as stiff as boards. When she landed on her paws again, Dalia quickly swung her head around to see who the heck decided to scare the bajesus out of her.

"Artaax!" she said with a pouty voice as she swatted at the younger boy with a paw, obviously not amused with his rough housing behavior. However, perhaps she would warm up to playing with him should he maybe apologise.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - July 08, 2017

Artaax was gratified as his hit landed. He dug his teeth only lightly into his half-sister's rump, grinning as she twisted and their eyes met. He released her instantly upon being thwapped on the nose and danced away a few feet, laughing as he went. He spun around to face her, dropping instantly into a play bow.

It was clear that she was not at all happy about being disturbed - nor was she likely happy at how he was haphazardly smashing her flower beneath his paws. He was used to getting that look from Blixen and Bobby, so it didn't bother him much. He snapped at the air towards her and woofed, trying to entice her into a romp.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - July 09, 2017

His laughter was almost contagious, Dalia couldn't stay mad at him forever, she broke her serious pout face and instead replaced it with her joyous smile and giggling laughter. Seeing that he wanted to play, Dalia couldn't help but romp with him, settling down into the play position. However, her eyes did catch the flower beneath his paws. Dalia stood up, her head tilting a bit at the flower. "You hurt it" she said with a sad voice, a paw gently nudging the flattened petals.

She wanted to play with him but the girl just couldn't get over the fact that her new favorite (and first favorite) flower was practically destroyed. With a little huff, Dalia didn't want to cry about it. Artaax would laugh at her and tell Sirio or something, she didn't want that happening. Instead, the girl got back into the play position, this time, she didn't wait for him. She launched forward, mouth open and ready to clamp onto whatever she could grab.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - July 24, 2017

The brief, confused scrunch of his face was the only indication he gave to Dalia that he acknowledged her woeful comment. He didn't understand what she was all sad about, as it never once occurred to him that plants were something to be admired or protected. They were inconsequential to him. His brief moment of uncertainty was quickly dispelled as Dalia leaped at him - replaced with excitement and eagerness as he dipped backwards to soften the blow. He turned his head with open jaws to try and latch onto her. He missed her entirely and collapsed beneath her weight, kicking his legs against her in an attempt to gain purchase.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - August 02, 2017

As he pulled away from her, Dalia grabbed only a small part of the side of his neck and playfully gummy-chewed on it, careful to not draw blood with her sharp puppy teeth. As she held on, Artaax did his best to get back at her by trying to latch onto her as well. Although this didn't exactly go as planned, he still somehow got her on her side. When he fell under her weight, he managed to get her off balance enough where the tumbled onto her side like a little tumbleweed. Quickly, but not quickly enough, she got to her paws. This lack of quick acting gave Artaax a big enough window to attack with his wave first.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - August 13, 2017

Artaax felt her jaws close upon his flesh and squirmed harder against her grasp. It didn't hurt at all, but he had never liked the feeling of someone holding him down like this. Fortunately, her grip didn't last as she tumbled over and the boy siezed his opportunity to roll to all fours. He was quick to leap at her nearly the moment he felt the ground beneath the pads of his feet, aiming for the scruff of her neck where he would try to grab hold and force her down.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - August 15, 2017

Her ability to regain her balance quickly was failing her, Dalia could see Artaaax planning his wave of attack. With almost perfect precision (in a puppy's point of view), Artaax gracefully keapt forward after doing what appeared to be a barrel roll to his paws towards Dalia. The little cherub couldn't react quickly enough, she felt him latch himself onto her scruff and begin to force her down.

Like some mad cow, Dalia begin to quickly swing her body left and right, almost flinghing herself around, trying to throw off Artaax's balance. She would often turn her small neck with her mouth open to nip at Artaax's face, especially his ears. Should she succeed, she'd be able to grab one and pull hard enough to make him focus on that instead of getting her down.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - August 19, 2017

Dalia, it turned out, also did not like to be grabbed by the opponent. Artaax's eyes widened slightly as she began to flail about in an attempt to knock him off. He held as tight as he could as he attempted to combat her swinging with his body weight - he had an inch or two on her that seemed like it ought to help. But instead of gaining the upper hand, he had given her the opening she needed to grab his right ear.

Artaax winced as she bit down and gave it a tug and was near to clenching his own grip down tighter when he realized he was probably very close to hurting her. As reluctant as he was to lose this fight, he was far more reluctant to actually hurt a member of his family. The pale goufa released his hold upon her and attempted a new tactic. Well, not a new one. Just the usual one but from a new angle. He pushed towards her chest with his shoulder, again hoping to knock her down or to at least get her to let go of his ear.

RE: Un jour viendra - Dalia - August 29, 2017

She had succeeded in grabbing her target, but she was still aware that she was open to his attacks as long as she held onto him. Dalia was thankful his grip of her loosened and she was able to be free. As she held onto the ear, careful to not pierce t by any means, Dalia wasn't expecting the "new" tactic formed by Artaax.

Caught like a deer in headlights, Dalia felt her grip on the ear loosen until she lost her hold completely as her fellow Goufa rammed into her chest with his shoulder. Luckily for Artaax, Dalia wouldn't be able to recover so quickly. The girl tumbled to the ground in a little barrel roll, caught in the heat of the moment and unable to recover her stance. This gave Artaax the chance to finally claim he could win this little play fight of theirs.

RE: Un jour viendra - Artaax - September 16, 2017

Hope it's okay if I close 'er up here! :D

Success! Artaax gave a triumphant growl as Dalia released his ear and fell. He was quick to make his move - straddling her to pin her to the ground. He stood above her, tail wagging gleefully as he panted, trying to catch his breath. His posture relaxed as he looked down at her in spite of the risk that she might act on a desire to continue the fight. To prevent that possibility, he bowed his head and began to shower her face with licks.

That lasted a few seconds before he hopped off of her and took a few quick steps away from her. He bowed suddenly and glanced back at her, yipping to entice her to follow and play a new game - chase. Likely all the way back to their parents, who would hopefully feed them.
