Nobody panic! - Grayday Sr. - August 06, 2017

After Sunspot's departure, Grayday decided that it was time for him to take over the hunts once more. That meant it was his job to organize the hunters - or, in this case, huntresses. He wouldn't pretend not to notice that the pack consisted mostly of women, at this point. The addition and readdition of Howl and Sylvas had taken some of the pressure off of Grayday, who had been feeling the affects of Khoe's insecurity a lot more than usual these days.

Grayday wandered through Twin-tree Meadow, wanting to touch bases with.. well, with whoever he found. He'd been busy with his children these days, and he needed to talk to everyone, at some point.

When his cursory inspection turned up no packmates, Grayday simply settled down and waited for someone to show up.

RE: Nobody panic! - Damascus - August 07, 2017

Too many days, too many nights - she had been away too long already, and Damascus wondered if her return would be welcomed. Any wolf who abandoned the post in her previous home - the one which she ruled, albeit briefly - had been chased out with great prejudice; would it be the same here? Maybe this was what kept her from appearing even after the wound had begun to stitch itself together. She was nervous of the fallout her abandonment may have caused.

Nervous, as well, of the thought that they'd never even notice. Perhaps the wolves of Morningside were too busy with their own lives to realize one of the recruits had fallen.

But she did her best to return as hastily as she could. It was at least a week since the incident - an event that Damascus could scarcely recall in full, now - but she picked her path carefully, and made gradual progress towards the cuesta. When the scent of Grayday hit her snout she knew she had made it - and her anxiety spiked.

He was in the meadow, and he was alone. Damascus saw his silhouette and sought it out with some haste, although there was an obvious limp to her body each time she put weight down on her hindquarters; she couldn't remember where the injury was, only that her hips burned and her ribs did not want to expand or stretch with her breath as easily as they used to.

With a call she alerted him to her presence, then slumped down among the grasses, too tired to get close.

RE: Nobody panic! - Grayday Sr. - August 08, 2017

He noticed the woman only seconds before she called to him, only to sink down into the grass. If not for her distinctive markings, he might not have recognized her as pack - the scent of Morningside had all bit vanished from her pelt, and it was not until he had already approached her that he detected it at all.

"Damascus? What happened to you?" he demanded. He only knew her in passing, but Sunspot had been fond of her. Besides - she was pack, and had helped to feed his family when he'd been unable to do so. It worried him that she'd gotten like this under his very nose. Or if not, how long had she been away without his noticing?

Grayday decided then that he needed to make walking the borders a higher priority.
