тнe elecтronιcѕ oғ yoυr нearт - Cassiopeia - September 28, 2017

Boredom compelled her to danger; as it always had, and the girl had enough of the darkness. She would go mad if she was left in the cave much longer, and already her mind twisted reality in the slightest of ways, seeing faces meld out of darkness, voices in the whispering of the wind. Or perhaps, they were residents and true whispers she heard, for the residents of Blackfeather knew secrets about this place she didn't, walked the shadows in ways that she could not. It was for this reason, the fear that boredom and darkness would turn her against herself, she slipped from the entrance and walked. steps were slow and purposeful, and adrenaline spiked in her veins, fear pumped her blood just a little faster. Her aim was a cache she knew to be nearby, for the rabbit that Aries had brought her days ago was not fresh, and he had been quick about it; it was only logical a cache lay in the vicinity. She was oh-so careful, silent, scenting and drawing nearer to the cache, movements slow and calculated, the adrenaline a pleasant alternative to stewing in darkness, the hum of danger terrifying, but better than madness. @Vaati

YOU GET POST #100 YEEHAW

The encounter between his sinister siblings and his captive has riled him, knowing that simply warning them to stay away will not keep them at bay for long. But he starts to wonder — as he carries a full freshly killed hare in his jaws as he walks for delivering her breakfast — when the three Fates will come for her, for him. He now can admit, her presence has grown on him. Merely conversing with one's own shadows does not make for an active social life, and as those within the dark woods are damned from ever creating bonds outside Blackfeather Woods, he finds it a peculiarity he should feel drawn to keep her there. Perhaps, he sees a potential beyond a backup plan for her, but what could very well be the next to join their ranks. But not yet; there is still hope left in her. That will need to be smothered out entirely before he is to rebuild her once again. This conditioning he has built will guarantee her reliance on him to the point where she knows not to bite the hand that feeds her. Only then can the thought of training, teaching her to embrace the task befallen on the wolves of Blackfeather Woods, to rid their world of what doesn't deserve to continue living... and then perhaps plant her right back into her pack with a surprise in her back pocket. Perhaps it is she that will do his bidding instead of being an accessory to his plans. But for now, he swings the bloodied hare in his mouth before dropping a few feet away from where she stands, finding her sleuthing around an emptied cache in search of her own meal. Naughty naughty naughty, he thinks and lets out an audible chuckle.

Close, so close. She can scent the subtle reek of food, and she spins, attempting to pinpoint it. But she is far too slow, and pitched laughter behind her has cold fear run down her spine, and she whirls, hackles on end and green gaze alternating between terror and a forced courage. There is blood on his muzzle, and her heart leaps irrationally before her gaze darts to the hare at his paws. She quivers, quickly falling still as she forces the tremors away. She stares at him, not trusting in herself, and waiting for him to do something, anything. He wouldn't harm her; she grasps to this ideal with a clamped grip, refusing to let it go. He protected her, in the cave. Suddenly she alternates, between terror and reassurance, fear and comfort. Confusion dulls the burn of her gaze, and she is silent.

He faces her with condescending amusement, and a singular brow quirks in her direction. It is entertaining to bear witness to her internal struggle between trusting him and fearing him, both knowing that that fine line is something their relationship balances on. But he won't fold to her hesitance of him, she must make the move first. "If you want it, come and get it," He challenges her courage, the very essence of who she used to be, but no more. This conditioning system he has cultivated will re-model her into something much more macabre, stronger, and beyond anything she could have been if not for him. But she is hungry, and the starved do not simply turn away when presented with a meal, not when she questions her own hesitance at that very moment. He watches her closely, something about his presence inviting her in but the mere fact that he is her captor, turning away any indication of trust. He kicks over the hare once, exposing the side bloodied and open. Vaati knows she is starving, knows that she wants it, but she must take it herself if she dares even to do that.

She goes for his face. It is the desperate move of an animal cornered by hate and fear, logic impaired and suppressed by emotion. There is a weakness there already, the gash that splits his handsome face garishly, makes him look the part of a monster. Fangs snap together, in the heated rush she is unsure if it is injured or uninjured flash she grabs, or if she has anything in her jaws at all. There is something inherently wrong about bearing this situation without a fight, and this she seeks to correct. She has already been in the dark woods too long, and its hold is not one she can shake easily; but as for now, of this she is blissfully unaware.

WHY IS THIS THEM LMAO

Ironically, he does not expect her to attack. It was the least he anticipated, and when she did, he is thrown off guard, stumbling back under her pressure and suprisingly vunerable to her attempts to harm him. She lands on top of him, clawing and scraping where she can ⸺ re-opening the wound on his face once again ⸺ and he hisses in pain, throwing her off of him in utter rage. Perhaps he would have obligied her simply amusing ideas of vengence for a little while at least, but it was frustrating to the realzation that she had not changed. She had not learned, and it could continue no longer. He bounds over to her, restraining and standing above her flailed form with the same intensity he showed Rannoch, murderous. "Why do you insist I hurt you?" He yells, louder than he has before, staring down at her in her eyes with cold, angry and utterly confused optics. Vaati snarls loudly, unable to contain the pure aggravation he feels for her, and everything she makes him feel. "Why!" He demands this time, canines inches away from her face. Vaati simply does not understand, and on some level, he never will.

Surprise, and then a rush of power flows through her veins. He is vulnerable, and she can hurt him, harm him. The euphoria is brief, as she is thrown backwards in a single, swift movement, and before she can recover her paws, he is atop her. The rabbit lies somewhere, forgotten, but it is not a necessity; not anymore. Blood drips through the thick fur of his muzzle, slowly, pumping slowly from the slit on his face. Fear does not have a chance to engulf her once more, for when she meets her gaze; it is not only raging emotion that she sees, but confusion. A dangerous thrill sweeps through the girl, triumph shining in her gaze. Blood drips lazily from the boy's muzzle, but the girl hardly notices, this small victory has her confidence blaze up, its significance increased by the fact that for so long she had lived in a stupor of fear and darkness. Word fail her, and so she simply stares up at him, gaze blazing with blatant defiance, revelling in his confusion and driving her own away. Her gaze didn't leave his, still full of brash defiance, which was what might have accounted for her next move. Blood dripped onto her muzzle, and instinct had her tongue dart out and catch the stray drop. The metallic taste of blood - wolf blood- exploded behind her fangs, as realization quickly set in, and her brash confidence faded to horror. The aftertaste of his blood still lingered on her tongue, and her gaze fell from his, a chill of fear sweeping like a winter gale through her veins

There is a moment of victory when he pins her to the ground, eyes ablaze with triumph before she does something that stirs a feeling within him. His eyes widen in surprise as her tongue draws up his nose, and a heavy silence settles between them. He doesn't know how to react, the situation is foreign to him and he is without the bearings to assess exactly what to do next. Vaati simply doesn't understand what to do, and internally, he panics. Shallow breathing is the only audible thing passed between them for many moments, before he rips away from her, staring back at her momentarily before running in the other direction. Perhaps it was not the most effective response, but his mind is clouded with confusion he doesn't understand and he doesn't want to acknowledge. He leaves the rabbit behind and Cassiopeia to whatever she escaped to do, he cannot bring himself to care.
