there's no peace in quiet - Antumbra - October 16, 2017

Thuringwethil barely took the rest of the day off when she arrived home. She kept close to her children, when they allowed, but her actual rest came in spurts. She took to the borders the next day, spending most of her time on the fringes for any signs of an escort group bringing her mate back. The gears constantly turn in the back of her mind for what will happen in the next few weeks and if and when she should take action again. Most of the time, these concerns are kept to herself, but she does not completely ignore their existence.

After a few days, she’s set up a routine again. She starts at one spot and covers as much ground as she can, running a new worn path along the tree line of their claim. Occasionally, the scents of others come fresh and she runs into the occasional wolf but she keeps moving, keeps searching, keeps pacing. Nothing immediate pulls her attention on this stretch of land, casual trot carrying her as if on autopilot.

RE: there's no peace in quiet - Cecil - October 23, 2017

Cecil weaved his way along the now familliar terrain, his blank canvas of a body blending in and out of the landscape. Even in the light of day Cecil could find just the right amount of shadows to melt into. Although not nearly as effective as his nightly prowls of the border. It was the main reason he enjoyed the coming of night, his inconspicious travel gave him a power in the dark that he reveled in. The chance to sneak up on an appointment or even more likely an opportunity to catch prey. However he found the task of traversing the land during the day just as exhilarating, as the need for care was much greater given his ebony fur.

Although his goal this day was not one of hunting, he was on the defense. He wasn't one to linger in the heart of the territory, and in the last weeks should anyone find need of him he could be found on the outskirts of the land they all called home. His favorite task being one of border patroll. The last few days however had been more interesting however, he often found Thuringwethil's scent along the border, however in the recent days it had been more and more prevalent if that was even possible. Of course she was worried for her mate. A topic that Cecil kept tight lip. He wasn't accustomed to Heda's having family, and he didn't approve.

He found his mirror image along a trail he had taken to following often. The Commander's form materialised before him, out of instinct he followed. Shadowing her at a respectable pace, waiting to see if she would accept his company.

RE: there's no peace in quiet - Antumbra - October 30, 2017

A small part of her toys with the idea of giving power to Drageda to Dio, Eske, and Tirgatao for the winter so she can return to the Caldera. They are the three most trusted wolves in her claim, as far as she’s concerned, and they can handle a few months without her. But her duty is not solely to Wildfire and she often talks herself out of the notion. This is why it is frowned upon for having families and Thuringwethil understands but she can’t fail at this—she can’t let this be what drags her under. She knows she can have both, if she plays her cards properly, but she doesn’t know where to go from here.

Cecil’s scent builds in her nose and she hears a sound behind her that does not fit within the background noise. Thuringwethil doesn’t say anything at first, continuing onward as if she hadn’t picked up the hints she is being followed. This time she is in the confines of her own home instead of somewhere unfamiliar, and while Cecil has been here a little while, he does not know the land like she does. Casually she turns in the direction where several fallen redwoods lay and with one turn, weaves in and out of the redwoods in a way that camouflages her until she’s disappeared from view and into the clearing with three redwoods on their side to her left.
