what follows; me as the whitest lace of light - Prince - January 13, 2018

Prince hadn't been up to much in particular; patrolling the borders, trying his luck at hunting when he could, and generally trying to be a helpful member of the pack.
It didn't leave much time for him to wonder where his only friends were.

Arrille was a newer acquaintance so he wasn't too bothered by the boy's disappearance, though part of him nagged and wondered. More pressing to him was Bean's disappearance, and he spent his days torn between grief and anger. At some point, the boy had decided to stop caring. He had searched along the borders and even somewhat beyond in his spare moments, in the beginning, and had turned up nothing but a faint scent.

Prince decided she must have left him, and for that he would not be able to forgive her if she did return. But he pushed the thought aside, rising from where he had been sitting to pace anxiously. With so many gone for the war, the loneliness of Bean and Arrille disappearing was hitting him harder than it might have normally.

RE: what follows; me as the whitest lace of light - Ajatar - January 14, 2018

She passes a couple of wolves on the borders every so often but she mostly spends it alone. While she enjoys her time alone, she knows she needs to expand a little. Even if it means spending time with the outsiders. Rose has started to turn in her favor, after the event on the borders. She even avoids the wolves she does know, except for Tirgatao every so often for guidance.

Bean’s scent throughout the territory has been scarce but she still notes Prince’s. When she finds it, fresh on the borders, she moves quickly to close the distance. His pale form materializes and she chuffs, slowing her gait to hover nearby.

Caught in his angst, the boy was startled by the fos goufa's approach. He barely suppressed a flinch, turning to greet her with a dip of his head. For a moment, foolishly, he wanted to pour everything out to her-- Bean has gone, Arrille has gone, this place is unfamiliar and I am alone. But the words did not come; he knew of her, but he did not know her, and it didn't feel right.
After several moments of silence, he pushed down the lump in his throat enough to speak. It's quiet here.

It’s quiet here.

Ajatar makes a sound similar to a grunt, but muffled. She hasn’t spent a lot of time with Prince since his arrival. She’s familiar with him, but only by a little, but he’s from her home too and maybe they could benefit from one another’s company. Bean’s disappearance is lost on her, having not really recognized that she’s here (other than a brief look at the meeting) but it does not concern her.

“It is,” she tells him, licking her lips. “My purpose for coming here is not panning out, either.” She’s only spoken to @Tirgatao about these things, the worries and stress of her role in Drageda. Maybe, once all is said and done, she’ll eventually return to Trigeda after all.

Prince wondered what she meant by her purpose, exactly. Perhaps naively, he wondered if she meant to replace Heda-- it was the most direct goal he could think of for one of her rank. The boy found he didn't like that idea. Still, he couldn't quite blame her for wishing to ascend in rank. He hoped to one day as well, though he thought himself lucky that he would never be in the highest position of power.
I don't regret coming. He said abruptly, but not accusingly; his tone held a reflective aspect. The boy added under his breath, almost not meant for Ajatar to hear: I just wish Bean had felt the same.

Suddenly eager to change the subject, Prince looked out towards the forest. Care to hunt-- or spar?

Prince expressed his lack of regret over coming to Drageda but his sorrow about his friend. Ajatar knows little about the other wolf but something never quite seemed right. Misguided and lost in their ways, a Trigeda wolf wouldn’t have turned her back on their own. She licks her lips but holds her tongue, instead avoiding any sort of confrontation for the brute that obviously was in pain. Instead, she turns her head when he offers a suggestion on activity and she nods, letting him decide or lead the way or his choice.
