Mount Apikuni i used to win every night of the week

she headed south as soon as the barest flicker of light ghosted at the horizon, missing suddenly the mountains that she'd grown to love from their time on the plateau. she knew she'd reached their foothills when familiar muscles began to burn with every fast-paced step, until she found herself on a worn game-trail that snaked around the lower slips of whatever this rocky peak was called.

she found herself not particularly caring for names and landmarks, finding some form of serenity in making it her sole goal to simply follow the trail until something interesting presented itself to her, be it lunch, some view of the valley below, or otherwise.
