and kings who kill us fine - RIP Issun - July 02, 2018

sorry for the shit post aa. backdated to july 2nd @Minori

the group traveled onwards, stopping every once in a while to scout areas. if he ever wanted make anything out of this partnership, a stable home was preferable.

the group entered the dimly lit forest and issun went off to explore. the place was ghostly silent and off putting. he felt mildly uneasy

By now the poppy seeds had worn off she had a throbbing headache and the beginning awareness that she was now a part of some group. She remembered Hazily that Issun had found her in the midst of her being lost to the effects of poppy seeds and cringed. As they entered the forest she felt on edge, it was eerily quiet and dark and it made her think of death. As Issun went off on his own she did so too in the same general direction, her nose lifted and sniffing for prey scents.

issun jumped at the sound of pawsteps, but settled when he realized it was minori. he instinctively turned to head towards her. the woman was a comfort for him and he enjoyed the time they spent together. he’d feel much safer exploring with her.

it’s quiet,” he stated as he stepped closer to her side. “really quiet. it’s kinda creepy” the only things he smelled were his companions, bark, and most importantly prey. something bigger than the usual vole or rabbit. “but i think we should stay here for a bit. go hunting and rest up.

Honestly she hadn't meant to make him jump but when he did she laughed softly, not in a mean way but more playfully teasing. When he came to her side she slowed her pace to make her pawsteps quieter "It is very disconcerting." she agreed in a low voice. Speaking any louder than a hushed tone sounded off in the way too silent forest.

"I suppose that sounds good. The quiet will make it easy to detect anything coming closer while we rest" she said. Then she moved forward and picked up the scent of prey again, her nose twitching as the tang of blood and fear hit her nose. She took off and found it quickly, her eyebrows furrowing. There was a young buck lying on the ground dying and bleeding. A puncture hole pierced it's gut and she sniffed around, picking up the scent of another buck. "Issun!" she called and stepped back to wait for her companion.

he too sensed a familiar metallic smell laced with fear. he eagerly followed minori to the buck in question. it must’ve lost a fight to another one, judging by the wound in its belly. an easy meal for the wolves.

issun exchanged a glance with his companion before slithering towards the creature. his movements were cautious and meticulous. there was still a chance this buck wasn’t going down without a fight. luckily for them, all it did was lift its head and cry out. the warrior nervously licked his lips before seizing its neck. he glanced up at minori, expecting her to help.

As soon as Issun appeared the fear scent of the injured buck grew stronger and it triggered a thrill in her chest. She growled softly and met Issun's gaze stalking toward the buck along side him. His glance upward wasn't even needed,  she attached her own jaws to the other open spot on the Buck's throat and bit deeply, a gorey crunch sounding and blood spurting freely into her mouth and from her lips.

the buck kicked underneath him with all the strength it had left, but the two were already dead set on their goal. it’s thrashing became weaker and weaker until its life finally drained. issun unhooked his jaws to look down on the body with pride. it would’ve been a harder task if not for the assistance. this would keep them fed for awhile as long as they kept scavengers away.

She kept hold of the throat, clamping down and shaking occasionally as the life died from it's body. When finally it stilled she released it and licked the crimson from her lips, grinning at Issun "Good job. You eat first since you'll be leading us" she said taking a step back to show her respect. She hadn't gotten to see him in action or to see his skill in leadership but she liked him and that was enough for her to give him a chance.
