sheep stuff [M] - Fus - August 12, 2018

There was not as much cover along the walls of the bypass as there had been in the maplewood, but Fus bore this with patience and poise. At least the stone was cool against his paw pads at this altitude, so he did not have to worry about burning them and cutting them at the same time.

He was after a fresh young lamb. It was sticking close to its mother still, and it was not wobbling - mountain sheep did not wobble even just after birth - but it was not quite as steady as the others, either. Fus had perfected this mode of hunting young lambs. He did not hurry, but followed doggedly after them, wherever they went. Eventually, they would find themselves on a narrow ledge or loose rock and he would lunge - and the lambs were so easy to scare. Fus did not have to bloody his jaws to have them falling to their deaths.

It was not the way he liked to hunt, but he was on his own, and he did not think the stranger from the woods would be pleased with a pile of rabbits. He needed this one grand thing, and then he would have brothers and sisters to aide him in real hunts. So he followed after the small herd of bighorns, determined not to lose them.
This isn't really rated M. If you came here looking for M sheep stuff, you should be ashamed of yourself.

RE: sheep stuff [M] - Clary - August 16, 2018

here for the sheep, not for the M lol!
She had stuck to a familiar trail until she hadn't, for that was the way of Clary. One would never find new things if they only kept to the familiar or old, and so much of this Valley was both familiar and old. Her family lay just a little to the South, or something like that, and they were both near and far from her mind today. Being back on more familiar ground brought a certain longing to her paws, and Clary had intentionally ventured near where she knew her family lived, as much as she'd intentionally stayed away. She needed food, and while the grounds around Easthollow would have been the easiest ones to navigate for prey, she knew her family needed them more than she.

This place seemed interesting enough. Promising, at least, unoccupied apart from the twisting trails of rabbits and sheep. Clary sprinted across the foothills in search of something fresh, when she caught the movement of a herd of bighorn still specks a good distance away. Big hooves, bigger horns? Yeah, not today. But as she redirected herself, she noticed a more welcome sight trailing behind the sheep - a large fellow, probably much bigger than she, but such details had never perturbed the young ranger before. His lope was distinctly wolf, and that was enough to warrant her company. Once the girl had finished her arc of avoidance, she turned right back around and steered toward the wolf, loping up from behind.

RE: sheep stuff [M] - Fus - August 24, 2018

As he was quite focused on his prey, it took Fus a while to realize he was being tailed. It was during a cursory check of his surroundings that he noticed the shewolf making her way toward him. His eyes slid past her at first, and then snapped back when his mind caught up with his eyes. Alarm flickered briefly across his features, but she seemed friendly enough.

Fus greeted her with a querying bark and a wag of his tail, allowing the rams to evade him, for the moment. It seemed more prudent to find out why he was being followed, even if he sensed no ill will from the stranger.

RE: sheep stuff [M] - Clary - August 27, 2018

He was friendly, she could tell, and she lifted her tail in a generous wave as she quickened her lanky lope toward him. Some warning about stranger danger echoed in the distant recess of her brain, but she didn't really care to listen. Clary couldn't remember meeting a wolf who wasn't pleasant in some sort of way, and besides, every stranger was only a stranger until you at least tried to make them your friend.

"Hey!" she chirped and pulled up to his side, bright-eyed, cherry-faced, and as unconscientious to personal space as ever. Her tail swayed with the overflow of cheer. "Ya huntin'? Want help?"
