Nova Peak midnight stroll

Swift followed, unafraid. Bazi's heart leaped into her throat each time he slipped, but she stopped herself from intervening. The river was shallow, and her brave little pup was doing just fine on his own. Sure enough, he emerged on the other side, chilled and damp but very much alive. Bazi offered him a brusque nod by way of praise, and moved on, walking quickly in the direction of the pond she had passed a few days ago. There was no stream, so she guessed that it was fed by some underground source and topped off by rain water. Either way, it was not water that you ingested without paying for it.
