Karm, let me know if you want me to fade better with this, as in gathering everyone and going back to JFG?

Kaskara and he had departed, him ushering the children in a direction he had deemed safest, rather than them tagging along and seeing something that might haunt them for life. Kieran had joined them part way – having been on his way to the pack call, and the three made quick work of tracking their missing pack mates.

Nausea pulled at him, but all thoughts were pushed aside as he sought the missing half of his family. Bazi and he were on the brink of ruin, but he would never wish anything to happen to her – and the idea of anything happening to his children sickened him.

Coherent thought was not possible, and so the wolf followed numbly behind Kaskara, his nose glued to the ground and seeking out the clues of what had happened to his family.

Bear teased at their senses, but not until they came upon the group did the truth truly shine through. Kaskara was quick to action, and with it, he was well. Kieran was at his side, no doubt just as eager to protect his new mate as well as his family. The sight of three large wolves coming to them shouldn’t have fully scared them – but it seemed to be enough, and as his teeth slashed toward fur, Scimitar lost sense of what his actions might have been. Burned in his mind was the battered state of his mate and Swift – Allure seemingly fine, if not for the terrified gleam in her eyes.

A paw swiped at him – it clipped his shoulders and sent him back, and despite the blood that flowed freely from his wound, the wolf was upon his paws far swifter than he had been in any other fight – the fight for his children.

The attackers fled – and he could only hope it was not in the direction of Jade Fern Grove. Without word, the man rushed to his son and daughter, his muzzle worrying over them and his heart aching at the realization that his son did not look at him with sight – his eyes were gone. Scimitar Frostfur had failed his family.
he came and stole the wild
a crime so old as the sky and bone
