Her lip curled upward in a warning snarl the moment her path away from the stream was blocked by the larger of the two females. Everything had been going so well between them the last few days while they’d been traveling. Not even so much as a misunderstanding of words. And now this. The ultimatum being thrown at her brought fury to the surface, enough to cause her body to quiver with rising anger. It wasn’t very often that she, herself, lost her temper but when she did, it wasn’t pretty in the least.
“Since when is it perfectly acceptable for you to walk away from me to have time to cool off and it’s not okay for me to do the same, Turquoise Blackthorn?” she growled, swishing the end of her tail in growing irritation. “How many times have you walked away from me, Turquoise? Because I lost count. I can tell you how many times I have been the one to walk away to cool off. Hell, I can count them on one paw even. So tell me, how is that even remotely fair?” Because she knew full well that it was not fair in the least.
