The old lady toddled along behind, being a lot stiffer than the rest of them, but she persevered in their little journey and was quite content with it. Given her age and the coldness of the season, she spent most of her time in the centre of the territory, but there was no harm at all in heading out with a bunch of other furry bodies on what turned out to be an egg hunt.

It was strange to think that the unborn creatures pushing out against the slim form of their Alpha were in fact Shreya's own great grandchildren — for Reek's actions had distanced her from that little family somewhat. But she was looking forward to the puppies regardless, and it was good to see their mother in much lighter spirits than when last they'd met.
