Moonspear everything the light touches

Alya seemed to follow his instruction, for which Dash was grateful. She seemed to be  a little more brazen than her siblings, and he worried she would insist on coming out to face whatever it was that was out there. Little did she know, she would hardly be a snack to the beast. Dash tried to keep his composure, to keep his fear down, but it was difficult. He was alone, and he knew that a fight against the feline could cost them their lives. 

Just as he was about to draw his muzzle up to howl, a flash of fur was coming at him. Dash let his instincts take over, pushing off with his back legs. But, he did not run from the cough—he ran towards it. Alya! RUN HOME! he commanded as he put his weight behind his attack. Jaws open, he searched for anything he could sink his teeth into. He would not allow this cat to get passed him. He had to give Alya a fighting chance. If she got to the others, he knew she would be safe.
