Set around four to five hours after this thread – @Lapis & Lazuli

Disinterested in much of the south, stumbling across a more northern-like area struck her with a sudden—and highly unexpected—longing for home. Since having dispersed from TakKik Kunnâk, she’d not found many areas that bore even a snippet of resemblance to the home that she cherished. Yet, there in the region that had lured away from the north a distant relative, she’d found herself staring at an icy river. The various patches of floating ice ignited the playing of a memory, and then there within her mind flickered the various images of her first hunt. She’d been fairly young at the time, and hadn’t been allowed to truly participate, but, at the time, she’d been granted the necessary permissions to remain with the adults and observe their actions. She’d watched them move across the ice, fish, and even drag from the frigid waters the bodies of living seals, only to then kill and feast upon their fatty forms. One glance at the water and she knew that not a single seal would ever be found within its depths, but fish would be.

Daringly, the Inuk neared the water’s edge, right before lowering down a single paw and pressing it against a visible patch of ice—which cracked beneath what little weight had been applied. Frowning, Chulyin retracted her limb and peered through the nearly made hole, feeling a mixture of disappointment and excitement. On one hand, the ice was far too thin to support her weight, but, on the other, she’d given herself access to the fish that had surely been trapped below. With a stilled body and slowed breathing, she kept her eyes glued to the ice, watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
