Idk how long we want them to have been traveling or really anything, so vagueness.  I'm so excited!

Zane had been sidetracked by an interesting scent amongst the grasses, but it turned out to be a dead end, and he now darted forward to catch up to his brother.  He had told himself time and time again since leaving that he still would have done so without Imaran's company, but he couldn't quite lie to himself - it was super nice to have someone around who was from home.  He had been quite homesick for a while on leaving, but as his parents and their birth pack fell further and further behind, the slight taste of regret was replaced with a growing pride and excitement.  They'd done this.

"Thought I scented a deer back there.  Bet we could take it, if it had been," he said with a grin.  He'd been on hunts with the family, many times, and knew what it took to bring one of the large animals down.  But that didn't stop him from flaunting the hypothetical.  If it wasn't proven impossible, he wasn't about to say it was, especially not for them.
