Northstar Vale shotguns and barbed wire fences

Normally, Bruges wasn't the sort to fall into traps set by pretty women; if anything, he was the one who ensnared the hearts of women and tended to leave them wanting more committment from him than he was ever willing to give. Of course, the few women who had wanted the same thing as him had provided pleasant, no-mess encounters which ended just as easily as they had begun...But with this remarkable, alluring female, he couldn't be too sure. 

He could feel himself being drawn toward her, like a magnet to the shiny surface of metal, when she stretched out on her side and beckoned him with a harmless yawn that slipped into a needy whine. His tail wagged from side to side behind him for a moment, as though to say sure, right, like I'm going to fall for that trick, but at the same time, he wasn't really all that willing to be too guarded. If he didn't play her game, she'd simply leave, and if he pursued, she'd get rough for sure. 

So, feigning indifference, he walked around her, giving her nothing more than a side-eye, head held up but still canted slightly toward her as he walked, her spine toward him. He was far enough that she wouldn't be able to reach him if she suddenly snapped out- but close enough that in an instant, with no warning, he suddenly dropped and snaked in to tease the fur at the top of her hips with his teeth, angling his hind end away from her still just in case she chose then to strike in retaliation. 

What he should have done then, though, was leap back as soon as he'd neared her...But this close to her body, he found it all the more difficult to pull away. He'd linger there as long as he could, his chin just above her flank, watching her with luminous silver eyes, half torn between the instinct to run and the need for proximity.
